At Last! A NEW FORM OF HEATING FROM GERMANY
Simple to install, Powerful, and no more servicing - EVER!
In Germany and Austria it can get as low as -20, even -30ºC and a single snowfall can be as much as 3ft
or more overnight. To deal with this severe cold they need powerful heating able to cope with sub zero
temperatures and sudden climate change. They need excellent control and above all - low running costs
without the need for constant servicing and replacement parts.
The solution, incredibly... is electric! This incredible heating
could be the answer to help beat ever increasing energy
costs and amazingly, it is not gas or oil, or solid fuel - but
clean electric! All you need is standard supply and NO
special tariff like economy 7.
All over Europe more people are choosing to heat their
homes and offices with this very special form of electric
heating in preference to oil gas or E7. In our area, more and more of our customers are making that same
decision and when you see this incredible heating for yourself you could be next! The heating looks just
like conventional radiators, but STOP! it is very different! Put simply, that clunky central heating boiler
needing constant servicing and replacement parts isn’t the only choice anymore!
Now you can heat your homes, offices, extensions or conservatories with these incredible heaters
providing individual control over every room without the need for a central control or wasted boiler
space. This incredible German heating simply plugs in! Job Done! You can do just one room or the
whole house! This heating, whilst quite NEW in the UK has been mainstream for a very long time in
Germany and Austria. Sunflow Ltd. offer a complete solution which can include disposing of your old central heating system,
even oil tanks! Discover for yourself this incredible German heating.

Editor:
I’m Dennis and as an agent for the Works I have been distributing the Works local to your homes for many years, so it is likely that you may have seen me on my rounds.
I am now looking to submit some interesting articles, which I hope, will complement our already popular magazine.
For future issues I will be looking for local topics, your opinions (good or bad!), stories & people of interest so any suggestions would be most welcomed- please email [email protected].
As a community magazine we are always trying to extend our links with local businesses and believe that our low budget advertising offers could be the answer to promoting a company’s business during the current “credit crunch” climate.

Barnwood Primary School In this edition we pay our first visit of the year to Barnwood Primary
School which as usual has several topics of interest and new
initiatives to report on.
A School Newspaper has been introduced with the first ever edition proving a very popular
and interesting read. The idea for the ” Termly Times” was first mentioned during last term and
since then the Year 6 pupils under the guidance of Mrs Jane Dyer , a Parent & Clerk to
Governors, have an organisation and structure in place to produce the newspaper on a once
a term basis. Specific roles have been allocated to Pupils, these include: Sub Editors, Reporters
and Photographers, who have particular responsibility for different topics.
The paper is an undoubted success with many interesting features and photos, all contributed
by pupils from the school. There are sections on School Events, Sport, Film and Book reviews.
Interviews are also proposed with Head Teacher Anne Davies chosen as the first nominee.
Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) Project was initiated last year and involves the pupils from
several schools in Gloucestershire working directly with the RSC in developing their Theatre and
Drama studies. All Year 4 pupils from Barnwood Primary have been participating and
contributing to a production of a Midsummers Night Dream which was performed under the
direction of the RSC at the Park University Campus in March. The play proved to be a
resounding success for all involved.
Continuing with the Arts theme, at the end of March, The M&M Theatre Group; a travelling
group of thespians gave a live performance of the play, the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
for the whole school. A very enjoyable occasion which gave all pupils the opportunity to
experience a “live” performance of a play.
Indaba Project. The final visit of the Indaba project was held at the school in February. Head
teacher Anne Davies welcomed the visiting party which included: Bishop Michael from
Gloucester, Bishop Mary from California and Bishop Sadok from Tanzania. The School choir
gave their distinguished guests a rousing welcome which was followed by a stimulating
Question and Answer session with Staff and pupils. The Bishops expressed their delight at their
reception and the informative questioning of the pupils and staff at the school.
Positive discussions followed on how to implement the ideas generated from the project in
approaching the issues around Poverty, Lack of Resources and Youth development. It is
important that these partnerships now established should be maintained in the future for the
benefit of all the dioceses involved.
Julie Rudd the school cook representing Barnwood
Primary participated in the School Chef of the
Year, a National School Competition held annually.
Julie was a highly commended runner up in the
Regional finals of the Competition.
Congratulations to Julie on this prestigious award.
Finally, as the funding for many schools is reduced in this time of economic downturn, the
Governors of the school are offering the school premises for hire, on either evenings or
weekends for functions or meetings etc. The picturesque grounds would be ideal for a Garden
Party perhaps?
All proceeds would contribute to both the upkeep of the school and the purchase of
resources and equipment for the children. Anyone interested should contact the school
directly.
There is always something new happening in this very pro-active learning environment and if
possible we should support this excellent Community school whenever we can.

DAVE’S TOP TIPS Power tools
No self-respecting DIY enthusiast can be without power tools. These tools are now often so cheap it seems silly not to have them seeing as they can considerably improve the ease and speed of any job. Special consideration should be given to which type and make of tool to buy- should you pick one up costing a few pounds or one costing a few hundred pounds? Only you can decide! As an example if you are re-pointing the back of a house, you are going to need a 4.5-inch angle grinder to cut out the old mortar. You could pay between £10.00 for a cheap corded one and up to £250.00 for a good quality cordless one. The cordless one would be great but comes at a premium price, at least you don't need to worry about cutting through the cord! The cheap corded one will hopefully do the job and at that price can be thrown away afterwards or you may be lucky enough to get many years service from it! Cheap cordless tools tend to be let down by the batteries, which often discharge very quickly. For this reason corded power tools are a better alternative as you can always use them without having to wait for the battery to be charged! Regards,
Dave Stevens.
