1098T Regulatory Update

New regulatory update requires institutions to report student payments (Box 1) vs. billings (Box 2) on the 1098T.

As a result of a collaborative effort with NACUBO, the IRS has provided a reprieve from the regulation this year. You will be able to report in either Box 1 or Box 2 for 2016 without penalty. Box 1 reporting will go into effect in 2017.

Ellucian is evaluating the impact of the change and will deliver any updates needed to support 2016 reporting as well as prepare for 2017 reporting should that be needed.
