Bambang Nurbudi Santoso, Student of Graduate School, Faculty of Engineering, Government officer at Magelang City, Indonesia I have been studying in University of Miyazaki (UOM) since October 2013 by joining Linkage Master Program as the regional cooperation between Japan and Indonesia. Learning process on the program that I follow includes not only just lectures in the classroom and laboratory, but also extra activities, such as a visit or field work to the Miyazaki City Offices and Miyazaki Prefecture Offices based on our topic of study. Studying in UOM will certainly open more additional knowledge that we can learn from Japanese experiences not only in the successful of planning and development, but also the culture and local wisdom that effectively keep the clean environment and natural balance. It is an important point for me as a government officer, because we can get to know how theory and knowledge were implemented to the actual planning and execution by the Japanese government to make social welfare and environmental sustainability. UOM also has more than enough facilities to support our study and our daily life such as modern library and laboratory, sport facility and health center, and dormitory and cafeteria. As a Muslim, I fell very honored, because our professors, UOM staff and our Japanese friends are very tolerance and respectful in Islam. Even recently, UOM built Islamic Center for us, as the first university in Kyushu Island that has Islamic Center facility for the Muslim student. (http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASG665HXPG66TNAB01H.html ), It is proven that UOM is very serious to make our study success smoothly, while our daily life is comfortable. UOM is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, such as mountains and beaches. The air and the atmosphere are very clean and fresh. So, for those who like scenery, traveling, and tourism, there are a lot of places around UOM that can be visited.( http://www.miyazaki-city.tourism.or.jp/en/ ) It will release your stress and give inspiration for your research. UOM is a nice place for academic study and daily life. Finally for the candidates of ABE Initiative Project, welcome to Japan and I look forward to meeting you in UOM. I have been studying in University of Miyazaki (UOM) since October 2013 by joining Linkage Master Program as the regional cooperation between Japan and Indonesia. Learning process on the program that I follow includes not only just lectures in the classroom and laboratory, but also extra activities, such as a visit or field work to the Miyazaki City Offices and Miyazaki Prefecture Offices based on our topic of study.
