Dear Members,

We are wrapping up a wonderful winter here at the JCC and planning an amazing spring, blooming with activities for you and your family.

Before I share some our top spring events, I wanted to tell you how excited we are to be opening a satellite location. On March 18th, we will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the Downtown Baltimore JCC (DBJCC) on

Light Street in Federal Hill. Dozens of families have already signed up to participate in our parent/infant/toddler programs and we expect many more in the months and years to come as we strive to connect more families to our JCC community.

Here are some wonderful special events that you won’t want to miss…

25th Annual Baltimore Jewish Film Festival at the Gordon Center starting April 4th and running through April 25th featuring award-winning Jewish-themed films from around the world.

Israel's 65th. Celebrate! Sunday, June 2nd from 12-4pm in the ball fields of the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC. If you love Matisyahu, you won’t want to miss his live concert as the family activities wind down.

JCC Annual Meeting, Thursday, June 6th at the Gordon Center. We'll celebrate the achievements of our JCC and honor our outgoing Chairman of the Board, Neil Demchick for his two years of excellent leadership. We will also install Will Minkin, as the new board chair along with new officers and board members.

Baltimore Jewish Hall of Fame, Wednesday, June 12th at the Gordon Center. This year we have chosen nine honorees including: Rabbi Jacob B. Agus, Leo Bretholz, Curt I. Civin, MD, Suzanne F. Cohen, Liebe Sokol Diamond, MD, Jacob Glushakow, Lee Rosenberg, Ronald M. Shapiro and The Jewish Legion. We hope you will consider supporting this event as all proceeds go to support scholarships for our Camp, Preschool and Maccabi participants.

In just three short months, we will begin another amazing summer of providing fun and memorable day camp experiences for youth ages 2-17. Options are available at Camp Milldale, Owings Mills and our Park Heights campus. To learn more call Dori Zvili at 410.559.3512, or visit www.jcc.org/camps.

Teens are in for some exciting social, sports & arts interactions with the Junior Maccabi Games Sunday, May 5th in Philadelphia and the JCC Maccabi® Games & Artsfest from August 4-9 in Orange Country, California. Over 150 athletes and artists will be representing our Baltimore Jewish community in California.

As always, we are committed to ensuring we are meeting the needs of our membership and the larger Jewish community by delivering excellent service and high quality, meaningful programs. We strive daily to be a welcoming and safe home away from home for you and your family.

If you have any suggestions, please reach out to me. I’d love to hear from you. I can be reached at [email protected] or 410.559.3502.

My best always,
