JCC AFTERSCHOOL-OAKLAND STAFFRha Bowden Director-JCC Afterschool-Oakland, DriverI hail from the great city of Boston, MA, home of the greatest sports teams in history! I attended Morehouse College and Georgia Tech in Atlanta to pursue a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and General Science with a minor in Mathematics. With only 2 quarters left at Tech I decided to follow my creative passions and enrolled in the Art Institute of Atlanta where I received a BA in Graphic Design. I am an artist, designer, poet, beat maker, story teller, urban alchemist, crystal healer, tarot reader, educator, and proud papa. I began working at the JCC over 6 years ago and I am thrilled and honored to be the director of this amazing afterschool program.

Yani Pettway Assistant Director, DriverHi my name is I’yuana (Yani). I am an adventure lover, sriracha enthusiast, and extreme foodie. I enjoy spending my time in the Bay Area traveling around and experiencing what we have in our backyard. Creating new friendships and experiences daily are things I strive for. Come say hi!

Brendan Tidd Head Teacher, Driver and ChefHello, my name is Brendan Tidd. Oakland has been my home base since the day I was born, 26 years ago. I have been a teacher at the Oakland JCC for over 3 years. When I’m not at the JCC, I embark on many outdoor adventures. I am also a film photographer with a focus on nature landscapes, wildlife and travel, as well as cityscapes and portraits. You can also find me riding my bike or even roller blading around the East Bay. I am also a DJ and a huge music & record collector. I love to cook, which is why I am the chef at the Oakland JCC. Some fun facts about me: I love smoothies, I can wiggle my ears, I like to jump over things and do ninja tricks, my favorite season is summer, my favorite Disney movie is The Jungle Book, and I sometimes baby sit in the evenings and on weekends. Lastly, I’d love to learn more about you!

Will Shattuc TeacherMy name is Will Shattuc and I’m Oakland born and raised. I do a lot of drawing, storytelling, and Shakespeare in my free time, right now for the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.
