Time: 1 hour

What do the students already know? This an introductory lesson in which students will be introduced to nouns and verbs.

5. Students will fold a sheet of paper in half, making two columns. One column will be titled nouns and the other verbs. They will walk around the classroom and write down 5 nouns they see, and then write 5 verbs that are happening during the activity.

6. The instructor will review aloud some of the items on the lists by calling on students.

Assessment:

1. Students will write two nouns not previously used on a sheet of paper. 2. Students will then write two verbs that associated with those nouns (a student

runs, for example). 3. Go around the room having a student state a noun and then the next student

state a verb that goes with the noun. The instructor will begin by giving the first noun.

A Brief Description Of The Entire Lesson:

This lesson will distinguish between a noun and a verb. Students will use multi-modal learning to practice their knowledge of the concept prior to being assessed and the culminating activity.
