Aboriginal art is very important in native
Australian culture. Everyone is considered an
artist!
People concentrate on their surroundings and
ideas come to them (like dreaming).
Aboriginal art is based on how different parts of
nature relate to each other.
Symbols: Aboriginal Art Is Decorated
With Meaningful Designs.
A squiggly line could be a snake.
Concentric circles usually represent a camp or
village.
Straight lines mean road or traveling.
Dots represent animal tracks.

Criteria
Animal: Work includes an animal. The student has to
depict an inside organ or something the animal has
eaten.
Symbolism: Student uses various aboriginal symbols to
create meaning
Color: Student experiments with various colors/patterns
to create a successful design
Effort/quality: Student uses aboriginal examples to
create a personal work of art. Uses time wisely.
