We are exceptional partners to the public and private stewards of our valuable and beautiful forests. We embrace Best Management Practices (BMPs) and sustainable forestry. To meet these values, we host annual continuing education classes on BMPs and conduct field audits to demonstrate our accountability to high quality, active management designed to promote long term forest health. WOW! Was that not an intense annual meeting we had with SAF this year? There were many talks on things I have never thought of in the forest but I am glad there are those professionals who pay attention to that detail! I was very impressed on our safety meeting attendance and participation so I commend all of you. We also had great input in our business meeting so keep it going. Thanks again for your participation. In June I attended a meeting at the FS regional office in Denver to meet with Steve Lohr (Jacque Buchanan's replacement). The meeting covered many things from product mix, contract mix, efficiencies, Veg management and FY 2017 outlook. Oh, don't forget the Lynx discussion! Overall, it was a very lively meeting to say the least. There was a push to have the Regional Office pressure each forest to put more timber out. The meeting ended up being a nice introduction to Steve Lohr. Now I would like to remind every one how important it is to increase our list of folks to help with our cause. I believe with greater numbers we have a LOUDER VOICE in the industry. Please keep pushing for new members and please keep being safe. Thank you all. Dan Casey
