No exceptions. * Bodies consisting of Hoods & Tail pieces must be constructed & mounted in such a manner as to retain the Drivers legs in a rollover. No sharp edges. safety of their children. If something is NOT explicitly allowed in this document, it probably is NOT allowed. If you

have any questions, contact the Race Director during race day.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE

KART SPECIFICATIONS

* Frames must not exceed 90” in length.

* Front-end plastic bumpers or similar wheel enclosures & body work are allowed for the Atwater Dirt

Oval Flat Kart Class ONLY, as long as it does NOT wrap around the wheels. Full Wheels must be visible

outside of Kart. This includes Briggs, KT-100, Open, Clones, & Animal Classes.

* Wheels & Tires must be “Kart Type” only.

* Driver protection Roll Cages are mandatory (outlaw kart classes) and must be constructed from 0.75”X

0.083” 4130 tubing or material of equal/greater strength. All Slip Joint Mountings must be retained from

upward movement, which exceeds the length of travel of the Slip Joint at all mounting points.

* Wings are mandatory for all Outlaw Karts at the start of race day. An exception may be made if Kart is

involved in an accident during race day. All Micro Midgets must start all races with a wing. No exceptions.

* Bodies consisting of Hoods & Tail pieces must be constructed & mounted in such a manner as to retain

the Drivers legs in a rollover. No sharp edges. Any material except wood allowed.

* Mufflers required if over 95 DB @ 100’ applies to all classes of racers at Atwater Dirt Oval.

* Vehicle numbers must be a minimum 10” tall & CLEARLY VISIBLE. If they cannot be easily seen, you

may not get properly scored during racing.

* All winged cars/karts must display numbers on both the right & left sides of the wing & on the Tail Section.

Hood number optional but recommended. Numbers must be minimum 10” tall & contrast with their

background for maximum visibility. A letter must follow duplicate car/kart numbers (i.e.: 29R, 3M, 4J, etc.).

CLASS QUALIFICATIONS

* Four or more cars are required to run for championship points and payouts each race. There must be four

cars in a class to determine a championship points in a class.

* If the type of kart that you run is not listed below, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate

you.

TRACK

* There will be no racing to the yellow flag. Upon issuance of the yellow flag, the restart line up will be

determined by the order of the last completed lap after implementing any penalties that may apply at the

time.

* No one is allowed on the Race Track, Scoring Tower or Flag Stand during racing unless directed to do so

by officials. Failure to follow this rule will result in verbal warning, second offense $25 fine to associated

car/kart payable before next race.

* Any time a car requires assistance (i.e.: stalls on or near the track, etc.) car is charged with causing a

caution & will be sent to the back for the restart.

* If a car stalls & requires a push during a caution, it will not be sent to the back, car will not be charged w/

causing a caution. Breakdowns are not included in this rule. Car/Kart starts in front of lapped cars & car

that caused caution initially. Lapped cars will remain where they lie until there are five or less to go then

lapped cars will be put to the rear under caution.

* If a Safety check is called on your car by officials, you will get your spot back. Rulings of officials are final

in this area.

* Any driver charged with causing 3 cautions/spins during a race will be shut down for that race and scored

to the point of the race being shut down.

* During an initial start, the cars will begin double file. Two attempts will be given to the leading row and if

not accomplished then race will begin single file.

* During a restart, all cars must remain single file until the leader starts the race in the starting box. When

the green flag is out you may pass. If you gain positions before the green comes out you will be penalized

one spot per infraction at the next caution or at the end of the race (whichever comes first).

* Weight rules for classes apply. Drivers & cars/karts will be weighed after the main event race in the tech

area. DO NOT leave the tech area before being weighed. Officials will determine how many positions will

be sent to tech. Random tech will be enforced at all times.

* The Flagman is in control of the racetrack when cars/karts are on the track. All Drivers must understand

the various flags & lights & respond accordingly.

* Green Flag: The entire track is open for racing. Passing is not permitted until the Green Flag is

displayed. Single file restarts will be at MEDIUM SPEED until the Green Flag is displayed & racing will

begin.

* Red/Yellow Flags displayed together: Complete Race Restart. On the first lap only. All races will be

entitled to one restart. Races unable to complete 1 lap repeatedly, may be lined up single file @ Officials

discretion.

* Yellow Flag: CAUTION. All cars must safely decelerate & form up single file behind the leader. Failure to

heed the yellow flag may result in disqualification.

* On restarts all cars/karts must come to a reasonable parade lap speed nose-to-tail. Failure to do so will

result in being sent to the back of the pack.

* NO “BRAKE CHECKING” coming to the Green. Maintain parade lap speed, racing restarts @ display of

Green Flag only.

* Red Flag: STOP AS SOON AS SAFELY POSSIBLE. FAILURE TO OBSERVE RED FLAG WILL RESULT

IN DISQUALIFICATION.

* Blue/Yellow stripe flag: Signals lapped traffic to hold line!!! Leaders are passing. Hold line & do not impede

passing leaders.

* Black Flag: Proceed to infield area for consultation w/ officials. Car/kart will not be scored if you do not

heed black flag.

* White Flag: 1 lap remaining in race. Note the white flag is a courtesy flag and is not mandatory in any

race.

* Checkered Flag: Race is over. All cars/karts must pass under this flag to complete race.

* In Gear Starts only!! No clutch popping starts!!! (Safety)

* Jump starts can result in being sent to the back of the pack. (Officials Discretion)

* Any car/kart leaving track during the race out the exit gate will not be able to return, (Safety).

* Drivers involved in or the cause of a yellow or red flag will start in the back of the pack. The cart charged

with the caution will be put in the complete back of field but all cars involved to the rear.

* The THREE SPIN rule is always in effect.

* No crew/pit members will be allowed on the track during races. Only authorized volunteers & track staff

will be allowed during racing. Must be at least 16 yrs. old to work on the track or drive push quads during

events.

* NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED after the first flag is thrown for first heat, PERIOD!!!

* Radio Communications between Driver & Pit Crew are NOT ALLOWED!

PIT

* It is the responsibility of parents to ensure children are monitored at all times.

* Be aware of space limitations in the pit areas. Respect your neighbor’s space.

* Never enter the pit area of another driver in an agitated state! Fighting will not be tolerated! If caught

fighting or foul language, you, your party & car will be removed from the track and fined/suspended. All

fines must be paid before next allotted race.

* Anyone under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Legal Guardian sign waiver form at each event or be

on file at the beginning of the season with Track Management.

* An adult must accompany minors at all times while in pit areas. Parents & Guardians are responsible for

the actions of minors in their charge. (Also see disclaimer).

* 2 WHEELED VEHICLES are not allowed in the pit areas during racing please.

* No Quad/Golf Cart Joy Riding in pit areas while there is racing on the dirt oval. Push Vehicles allowed at

all times. Must be at least 16 yrs. old to drive push quads. Do so carefully please & at your own risk.

Drivers/parents will be responsible for any accident caused by rider.

DRIVER

* Being race ready is the responsibility of the Driver. All cars must be in the Staging Area with all safety

equipment securely in place & Driver properly buckled in the car prior to the beginning of the race

preceding yours. Do not rely on us calling you to your race. We try to call all races but you need to keep

an eye on the Staging Area & follow the order of races. Be ready for your race. No special considerations

given. It is your responsibility on the initial start to go from staging to line up correctly on the track. Know

your position.

* Birth Certificate must be provided & kept on file for all racing minors. NO minor Driver will be allowed to

race without a Birth Certificate on file. A grace period may be extended at Officials discretion.

* The maximum age requirement for a given class is in effect at the date of license or at the date of first

race at the discretion of the Race Director/AKC President.

* If a Driver meets the minimum age requirement at some point during the current race season, that Driver

will be eligible to begin the season racing in the class in question at the discretion of the Race

Director/AKC President.

RACE DAY

* Drivers Meeting — Prior to each racing event, all drivers attend a mandatory meeting, which is conducted

by the officials. The meetings outlines the night’s racing events and any procedural changes that may be

in place.

* Hot Laps — A practice session held prior to heat races. This session is run in groups. Each group is

determined by the running order of the day. . During this practice session each car is allotted 3 or more

laps at speed in order to ensure that their car is ready.

* Heat Race — A 10 lap race that determines the lineup for the A Main. Whether there will be a B Main is

determined by car count.

* Trophy Dash —Run only on special occasions. To be determined by the top finishing karts in the heat

races.

* Main Event —The final race of the event which determines the finishing order. The A-Main usually ranges

from 15-25 laps, which is predetermined and shared with the drivers and teams at the drivers meeting.

* Points are awarded for main event only

* To be eligible for Championship Points you must obtain a dirt license by the fourth (4th) race.

* There must be four dirt licensed drivers in a class to compete for the championship.

* To be eligible for Championship Trophy’s you must race at least four (4) of the races for the season at

AKC Dirt Oval.

You may review you’re point totals with the Chief Scorer at any time you feel necessary during the racing season.

Please schedule an appointment to do so.

SAFETY

GENERAL

* You are responsible for the safety of both you & your car/kart and your crew.

* Minors are to be signed in by Parent or Guardian & are the responsibility of that Adult for the entire event.

* Being race ready is the responsibility of the Driver. This includes having all mandated safety gear in place

& in good working order.

* Race Officials have the right to remove any car/kart from a race due to conditions deemed unsafe.

Conditions may include safety & mechanical hazards as well as any unsportsmanlike or unsafe driving

practices.

* All Track & Safety Officials decisions are FINAL after consultation with Race Director and AKC President!

CHASSIS

* At least one brake caliper acting on a 6” diameter disc on the rear axle is required. Only Hydraulic

systems are acceptable. Braking systems must be functional at all times.

* Front brakes are allowed.

* All outlaw Karts & Midgets must be equipped w/ a properly mounted 5 point safety belt harness. All

webbing, buckles & brackets must be in good order.

* Aluminum high back wrap around racing seats are mandatory. The top of the seat should be at least at

the middle of the drivers head. ( Speedway Karts excluded )

* All seat mounts must be securely fastened to the Kart Frame.

* Feet protection bars mandatory at start of race.

* Side nerf bars mandatory at start of race

* Left side nerf bar mandatory at all times.

* Rear nerf bar mandatory at start of race.

* All weight added to the car/kart must be bolted to the seat or mounted to the frame. All individual weights

over 5 lbs must be painted white and have car/kart number on the weight. Any material used as ballast

must be securely attached to the main structure of the car/kart. No liquid or loose ballast will be allowed.

* All classes’ chassis will be constructed of ¾” 0.083” chrome molly, 1” 0.060” chrome molly, or 1” 0.083

steel tubing.

* No exotic steels or Alloys. Ferris materials only. No Carbon Fiber in chassis construction.

* All Kart Roll Cages must be securely restrained w/ a safety chain or grade 5 or better bolts in at least four

spots on slip joints.

* Drivers Head & Body must be completely inside Role Cage. Roll Cage height 2” minimum clearance

above Drivers Helmet. (Karts)

* Fuel Line location cannot be closer than 2” to any part of the exhaust system at any time & shall not be

installed above the exhaust system. If closer than 2”, fuel line must be insulated w/ proper grade heat

insulation protection. Fuel line must have ample slack for Roll Cage movement. Fuel Line must be

gasoline grade only. Insulation recommended.

* Out board mounted fuel tanks must have proper metal protection to prevent rupture in case of collision

particularly fuel petcock area.

* Suicide Doors: Left side Driver protection is required. (Kart related)

* Axles may not protrude beyond the outer rim of the wheel.

* Tail piece protection: If the top of Tail Section protrudes above the seat, tail must be padded. Thick

Plumbing Foam recommended. Tail Section must be securely attached to the frame.

* Chain Guards are required. Appropriate design & material must be used to safely contain a thrown chain

to prevent injury to Driver. If in doubt, consult an Official.

ENGINES

* The end of the exhaust pipe may not extend out further than the outermost edges of the nerf bars, bumpers & wheels.

* All Kart engines must have a 6” or longer nylon Tie attached to the Spark Plug wire to allow safety crews

to shut off engine in an emergency.

DRIVER

* Neck Braces are mandatory in all classes.

* Hans or Hutchins type devices strongly recommended but optional.

* Arm restraints are mandatory & must keep the drivers arms inside of Roll Cage in the event of an

accident. Speedway Karts excluded.

* Fire retardant racing gloves are mandatory for Mini Sprints, Dwarf classes and beginner box.

* SNELL or DOT approved (SA 95 or later) full-face race car type helmets w/ protective visor are

mandatory. Helmets will be inspected. No Goggles or motorcycle helmets.

* Auto racing fire suits mandatory for Mini Sprints, Dwarf cars, Trucks & any vehicle using Alcohol Fuel.

One or two layer fire retardant garments w/ SFI Certification rating of 3-2A5 or better. No motorcycle race

clothing. Underwear w/ 1 layer suit required.

* Outlaw & Speedway Kart classes: Fire Proof Suits recommended, but not mandatory.

* Minimum clothing: long sleeve sweat shirt, long pants, socks, & closed toe shoes.

* Speedway Karts must have long sleeves, long pants, socks & closed toe shoes.

* Fire retardant underwear strongly recommended. Required w/ single layer suits.

* Fire retardant race shoes are recommended but optional. Leather shoes recommended.

* ROOKIE RULE: Any driver signing in who has not been given approval to race in a class which he/she

does not have any experience, may be asked to run as a “ROOKIE”. Rookie Drivers will be required to

display a yellow tape off of the back of the Roll Cage while racing on the track. Rookie Drivers will start at

the rear of each race until cleared of “ROOKIE STATUS” by track Officials. Rookie Rule is for safety

reasons.

PIT

* All pit areas must be equipped w/ a serviceable Fire Extinguisher capable of extinguishing fuel & oil type

fires as a minimum.

* You are required to keep your pit area clean of all garbage, oil, tires, etc. These are fine-able infractions.

* Entrance & exits to the track are to be kept clear at all times. Race cars/karts to stay in pit areas until

you’re call to the Staging Area or the race preceding yours is on the track.

* Racers are to know their starting position before going on the track. Staging in the proper starting position

will reduce confusion. Staging Official will assist in proper line up if one is available for that function.

(Volunteers Welcome)

* It is the responsibility of Drivers & Pit Crew members to be constantly vigilant while starting vehicles in the

pit areas. Do so safely & responsibly. Kart needs to be on a stand or driver needs to be in the vehicle to

maintain kart safety.

* At no time will speeding in the pits be tolerated & can result in a fine and/or DQ. Official’s discretion will be

used. Use CAUTION! Children are present in pit area!

* Smoking in pit areas is not recommended. Please use common sense.

* YIELD to larger vehicles.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION

IMMEDIATE— MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE TO RACE.

* Full Face Helmet, checked for proper fit & SNELL or DOT requirements.

* 1 or 2 piece race suit w/fire protections of SFI Certification 3-2A/5 or better mandatory for all cars/karts

using Alky fuel. Outlaw Karts class must have a minimum of long sleeve cotton sweat shirt, long pants,

socks & closed toe shoes.

* Nomex underwear recommended. Required w/ single layer fire suits.

* Fire retardant car racing gloves.

* Fire retardant race shoes recommended.

* Seat Belt Harness properly mounted, in date.(approx. 3yrs. old) Must be in good order

* (no tears or damaged webbing & all hardware in proper working order).

* Arm restraints required. (speedway karts excepted)

* Neck Brace, Hans or Hutchins device.

* Brakes operational.

* Steering Link lock nuts or cotter keys.

* Steering Wheel securely mounted.

* No protruding objects.

* No axle protrusions.

* Spindles cotter keyed.

* Check Cage Mount heights for Slip Joints. ( Karts)

* Frame, Nerf Bars, Bumpers properly secured.

* Seat mounted securely & no cracks on mountings.

SECONDARY— GRACE PERIOD MAY BE GRANTED AT RACE OFFICIALS DISCRETION.

* Seat condition & mounting.

* Wing mounts.

* Suspended seat kart restraints.

* Wheel & tire condition.

* Rear axle keepers.

* Floor Pan condition & mountings.

* Hood & Tail mountings.

* Tail Piece Protection.

* Fire Extinguisher.

* Number/Letter size/ location.

* Chain Guard.

Any Official has the authority to question a car/kart for legal & safety issues.

ACCIDENTS

* Race Officials & Emergency Medical Personnel are the only persons authorized to be on the track when

an accident occurs. Exceptions are at the discretion of race officials.

* Officials may stop cars/karts involved in an accident for inspection.

* Medical personnel must examine & assess any driver involved in a major incident.

* Car/Kart & Driver involved in accidents may continue only with official’s approval.

* Any emergency repairs to car/kart must be approved by a track official.

* Race officials have the right to remove any car/kart from a race if it is deemed unsafe. Such conditions

may include mechanical hazards or concern for the Drivers physical & or mental well being.

* Racers cannot get out of their car/kart at anytime on the track, safety reasons accepted.

RACE PROCEDURES

* There must be a minimum of 4 cars/karts in an established class for the class to race for cash. For

classes that do not meet minimum requirements, the cars/karts may be combined with a similar class,

race anyway w/ minimum number or not race at that day’s event. This will be decided by track Race

Director. Trophies may not be awarded if less than 4 racers are in a class.

* Trophy Dash laps will equal number of cars/karts qualified to participate. (Time & event format permitting).

* Initial race line ups will be determined by “Pill Pull Method”.

* Low car/kart count could result in Main Event w/ fewer laps than originally planned. A minimum of 4

cars/karts in a class are required to have a Trophy Dash when applicable.

* Drivers may NOT switch cars/karts or utilize a back-up in the middle of a race or throughout the racing

event w/o first consulting Track Officials.

* Driver substitutions are not allowed at any time.

* Everyone will have one race dropped at the end of the points season whether it is raced or a vacation

day. DQ’s cannot be used as a drop.

* Rain outs: If a race is called due to rain, it may or may not be rescheduled. Racers availability, officials

discretion & weather conditions will be considerations.

* Missed Hot Lap sessions may not be made up. We want all racers to have an opportunity to warm up & get a few Hot

Laps. Time and officials discretion to be applied.

* Track Packing is a necessary part of Dirt Racing. All registered cars/karts are expected to participate as requested by

Officials. Cars/Karts that do not participate in track packing as requested will start both Heat Races in the rear of the

field.

* Top 3 finishers at a minimum in any main event will be required to weigh in at the Tech area. Total

cars/karts to be weighed will be announced at the Drivers Meeting at beginning of the event.

* Race officials can inspect any car/kart/Driver at any time during an event.

* Pit Crew are not allowed on racetrack or infield while race is in progress unless approved by Officials.

* During Red Flags: NO ONE is allowed on the racetrack or infield area unless approved by an Official.

* During a yellow flag period, you may make minor repairs or adjustments to your car/kart. You will restart in

the rear of the field!!!

CONDUCT

* Track Officiating at AKC Dirt Oval is a cooperative & voluntary effort. Any Driver, Pit Member or Spectator

age 16 or older may volunteer to help officiate a race/event. By everyone sharing this important

responsibility, a greater appreciation of the complexity, volatility & distress will be realized by more people

& provide perspective of the racing spectrum. Racing is a very emotional sport & tempers can quickly

escalate into volatile situations. By all participants addressing each other calmly & with respect, we can

minimize problem situations. Please allow the Race Director and AKC President to mediate complex

situations.

* Due to volunteer & rotational nature of Official personnel, Drivers or members of his/her crew may not

approach Flagman, Track Officials, Tech Official, Scoring Tower or Sign-in Booth personnel in an agitated

or aggressive manner with complaints.

* Complaints, comments or questions should be handled by the Race Director. If you feel you have been

treated unfairly, please calmly check with track Race Director to call for assistance if not readily available

in pit area. Do not go to the sign in booth.

* Any person fighting on the premises will be severely dealt with and may include permanent suspension

from AKC Facility. Penalty per Race Director and AKC President.

* Drivers are responsible for the conduct of their pit crews & associated spectators. Drivers are subject to

penalty if said people commit negative actions. (i.e. fighting, etc.)

* Any display of unsportsmanlike conduct including foul language on or off the track can result in a FINE,

SUSPENSION, REMOVAL FROM TRACK, POINT PENALTIES and/or ALL THE ABOVE. Let’s maintain

our facility as a FAMILY ATMOSPERE & SET A GOOD EXAMPLE for our children & younger

racers. Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times please.

* Penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct are detailed in the penalties section of the rules.

* Any Driver who approaches an Official on the track for anything other than a safety issue or placement

assistance may be sent to the back of the pack.

* Any Driver that continues to hold up the racing in protest will be Black Flagged & must leave the track

immediately.

* RACING SAFETY IS A PRORITY AT AKC DIRT OVAL & ROUGH DRIVING WILL NOT BE

TOLERATED!!! A Driver that is rough driving (in the opinion of an official) will be warned one time with a

rolled-up black flag/consultation. The second occurrence during the same event will result in a Black Flag

D.Q. of that race. Any Driver disqualified from a race as a result of rough driving will be subject to further

disciplinary action if infractions continue to occur including removal from track.

* ALL ILLEGAL DRUG USE is strictly PROHIBITED & any suspected influence should be reported to track

officials for investigation.

* ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION during racing events by Humans is PROHIBITED. The only alcohol

consumption allowed during racing is done only by racing engines. Alcohol consumption after racing

events is encouraged to promote social intermingling. If you don’t drink alcoholic beverages, bring your

favorite soft beverage & join-in. Drink RESPONSIBLY please.

* Any Driver, Pit Crew Member or Spectator suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs

can be disqualified from further participation in the event.

* All beverage containers are subject to inspection & confiscation at the discretion of area monitors, security

personnel or track officials. Confiscated containers will be returned at the end of the event.

* AKC Facility will provide an official to handle issues, disturbances & arbitrate grievances as needed. If you

wish, you may submit any issue for review in writing (U.S. mail & e-mail OK). We will make contact with

you to address your issue.

* No one is allowed on the race track except for race Officials. A $25 Fine may be given to anyone entering

the race track without official permission.

RULES VIOLATION & PENALTY GUIDELINES

Fighting & unsportsmanlike conduct are unacceptable behaviors. Penalties for violations will be applied as

follows:

Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Any combination of; $250 fine, ejection from facility, suspension and point

penalty.

Ignoring Black Flag: Any combination of; $250 fine, ejection from facility, suspension and point penalty.

Failure to stop at Tech: Driver DQ’d & forfeit all Points & Earnings for the event.

Tech Violations: Driver DQ’d & forfeit all Points & Earnings for the event. Multiple violations subject to

any combination of; $250 fine, ejection from facility, suspension and point penalty.

All fines are to be paid prior to Driver’s next race. Parents/Guardians are responsible for fines assessed to their

minor Drivers.

BEGINNERS BOX STOCK

* Rules and Intent. The intent of this engine package is to provide a low cost power source for a beginner

class.

DRIVER

* Driver must be 4-8. All drivers must be approved by the promoter.

* All Beginner Box drivers must be prepared to submit a copy of their birth certificate.

* A release form must be filled out each season.

* Minor must be accompanied by an adult at all times when in the pit area.

* It will be the track’s discretion on moving driver up on advancement upon learning abilities.

ENGINE

* Sealed Subaru with proper restrictor.

* Subaru EX27 with a special crank snout/exhaust system plus a restrictor plate.

* Sealed motors may only be rebuilt by licensed dealers and then resealed. NOTE: Dealers will be

responsible for the motor being legal. You are responsible to make sure official seal is attached and un-

tampered with. Broken seals found prior to qualifying will result in that motors banishment for the night.

* Stock Briggs and Stratton five horse okay with proper restrictor.

* OHV engines generally referred to as Clones with a maximum displacement of 212 cc. Current legal

engines include but are not limited to the Lifan, Grey Hound, Harbor Freight Blue, Yellow, Jaing Dong

Yamakoyo, Blue Max, Ducan Dupor and Predator.

* Engine Components MUST be original OEM items in that engine in their stock state as sold in the store

unless otherwise specified. Removal of unnecessary OEM items such as exhaust systems, air cleaner,

fuel tank, governor, low oil sensor, etc. is permitted.

* Must have stock timing. No key or keyway modifications.

* Exhaust System: Non tech

* Stock Carburetor: Huayi/Ruxing type carb only. Choke assembly must be in place and functional. Stock

Venturi diameter, must be round, checked with go/no go gauge. Jetting is open. Filter adapter and filter

are open. Any pulse type fuel pump permitted pulsed from the valve cover. Carburetor dimensions to be

checked with no go/go gauge. Plastic carburetor isolator must be unmodified and installed in its original

location.

* Fuel tank: Non tech. (It is recommended that for safety reasons a remote/floor mounted tank may be

used).

* Pump Gasoline only. No methanol. No fuel enhancers or additives.

* Clutch: Any engine mounted shoe/drum clutch. No axle clutches. No disc clutches.

* Connecting Rods: OEM cast rods only. No modifications allowed.

* Pistons: OEM standard bore only. Three ring design and all rings to be intact and functional.

* Crankshaft: Standard OEM item with stock stroke length (plus or minus 0.005”). No alterations permitted.

* Flywheel is open with stock diameter - 100 dollar suggested retail max. Must use stock ignition coil, plug

wire and restrictor spark plug boot. Spark plug is open.

* Cylinder Head and Block must be OEM with no modifications allowed. Stock Head gasket

* Valve Train: OEM push rods, push rod guide plates, retainers, springs, keepers, rocker arm and adjusters

only. OEM valves with 45 seat angle only and no lightening or polishing. Stock 1:1 ratio OEM rocker arms

SPEEDWAY KARTS (FLATS)

GENERAL RULES

* All Speedway Karts must have a 4” number on the right side of their Helmets so race scorers can see

your number easily.

* Numbers must contrast w/ helmet color.

* No driver restraints allowed or anything that would impede the driver’s quick exit from the kart.

* All Speedway Karts must have a rear push Bumper w/ minimum height of 12” from the ground to

accommodate pushing to star or removal from track.

* Any Speedway Kart not meeting the 5 HP Class or the 100cc Yamaha Class will be moved to the Open

Class.

* All Speedway Karts will have a proper chain guard in place made of appropriate material to properly

protect driver from a thrown chain. Chain guard will start at top of engine & extend over rear sprocket.

Plastic or carbon fiber not acceptable. Metallic materials only (i.e., steel or aluminum)

CLONE

RULES AND INTENT

The intent of this engine package is to provide a low cost power source to attract new or budget minded karters to

local and regional level karting.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS ENGINE

* Approved engines – OHV engines generally referred to as Clones with a maximum displacement of 212

ccs. Current legal engines include but are not limited to the Lifan, Grey Hound, Harbor Freight Blue,

Yellow, Jaing Dong Yamakoyo, Blue Max, Ducan Dupor and Predator.

* Engine Components MUST be original OEM items in their stock state unless otherwise

specified. Removal of unnecessary OEM items such as exhaust systems, air cleaner, fuel tank, governor,

low oil sensor, etc. is permitted. Welding or epoxy repair permitted to the block, head and side cover

provided that they don’t enhance performance.

* Exhaust System: Non tech except header must be round and the end may be expanded to accommodate

a muffler/silencer.

* Carburetor: Huayi/Ruxing type carb only. Choke assembly must be in place and functional. Venturi is

0.615” max diameter, must be round, checked with go/no go gauge. Jetting is open. Filter adapter and

filter are open. Any pulse type fuel pulse type permitted and can be pulsed from the crank case, side

cover or valve cover. Carburetor dimensions to be checked with no go/go gauge. Plastic carburetor

isolator must be unmodified and installed in its original location. Restrictor plates are optional depending

on post race kart and driver weight, if a restrictor plate is used it must be installed on kart in its intended

manner between the carburetor and isolator, restricting the air flow into the cylinder head in such a way

that all intake air/fuel must pass through the restrictor plate. Restrictor plate must remain unmodified from

the manufacturer (i.e. a blue plate must have a 0.550” restrictor opening). No other spacers, manifolds or

pulse adapters may be used.

* Fuel tank: Non tech. (It is recommended that for safety reasons a remote/floor mounted tank may be

used). Tank must be securely fastened.

* Fuel: Gasoline only. No methanol. No E-85. No fuel enhancers or additives.

* Clutch: Any engine mounted shoe/drum clutch. No axle clutches. No disc clutches.

* Connecting Rods: OEM cast rods only. No modifications allowed.

* Pistons: OEM standard bore only. Three ring design and all rings to be intact and functional.

height of spring is 0.815” minimum with any spacers or seals.

* Camshaft: Stock appearing camshaft cores only with EZ-spin assembly unaltered and in stock

condition. Max intake lift is 0.240”. Max exhaust lift is 0.245”.Readings are taken with a dial indicator on

the valve spring retainer with a zero lash.

* Fasteners and Gaskets: Non tech but must retain their original factory size. Heli-coils, studs, etc. are

allowed for repair purposes.

* Crankcase breathers are to be routed internally through the valve cover as originally intended in OEM

configuration. No additional breathers are allowed.

GENERAL KART AND BODY WORK SPECIFICATIONS

* Tires – Any 5” or 6” diameter wheel and tire. Right rear tire must read 50 on the durometer.

* Weight – Kart and driver 370 lbs. (315 lbs with an unmodified blue ARC 0.550 restrictor plate or 425

pounds with an open right rear tire. Minimum of top 3 drivers must go to scales! To be announced at

driver’s meeting! If failure to scale driver will be DISQUALIFIED and will forfeit any money and points for

that night. All weights added to the kart must be securely fastened to the kart with a minimum 5/16 inch

diameter bolt. If weight is attached to the seat, then large area “fender” washers must be used. Kart

weight must be displayed on the engine shroud or top plate to aide track officials at the scales.

* Bodywork: All bodywork components must be constructed of high strength plastic, fiberglass or advanced

composites. No metallic materials are to be used for side panels or nose cones. Bodywork must not

obstruct the driver’s forward or peripheral view. No panels or bodywork may cover the driver’s head. All

karts must have bodywork or bumpers that protect the leading edge of the front tires from contact with

another kart.

* Bumpers and Nerf Bars: All karts must have front bumpers that adequately protect the driver’s feet. Karts

must have nerf bars that adequately protect the kart from side impact and will prevent karts from

“hooking” wheels. “Speedway” style rear bumpers are required and must extend to at least the centerline

of the rear tires.
