Dear Monsignor Dillon,Thank you very much for your continuing
support and sincere interest in helping
the Polish Community. I believe Father Adam Ozimek has your
permission and will beavailable to offer a Holy Mass at 1:00 PM on
Easter Sunday, March 30th, 1997 for thePolish -American Community.
Thank you for planning the ceremony of blessing of thefood on Holy
Saturday at 10 AM as was done before, followed by confession heard
inPolish language by Father Adam Ozimek.
Christmas Mass celebrated by Father Adam, supported by our
Polish choir andorganist, was again a success (attended by more
than 600) and remainder of a great needobserve the catholic
holidays and traditions in the Polish language and gather
togetherafter the Mass. This time there was a lot of space for
parking with 1:00 PM arrangementand enough time for choir
rehearsal.
We are continuing the 5th year of Christmas and Easter Masses.
People aredriving over 1 hour and a half (or longer) to be with us.
We feel that there is a big needfor a Holy Mass once a month in the
Polish language. With your approval, permissionand support I will
write a letter to Archbishop of Atlanta, Most Reverend John
FrancisDonoghue. If this kind of action will be of any help
together with supportive list ofsignatures given by the ad hoc
Parish Committee and Community Members please let meknow. I recall
your letter from October 30 1996 suggesting: ...it would be better
to awaitdevelopments rather than try to anticipate them. Father
Ozimek is conscious of yourdesire to continue a service to the
Polish Community in the Archdiocese and we will doour best to
accommodate that need ....
My biggest contact with the Polish American community will come
in the coupleof weeks because of the letter in Polish and English
sent to 350 families. Through PolishAmerican Chamber of Commerce
access is much smaller - those who really need Mass inPolish do not
belong to PACe.
