A Typical Day
Children arrive and self-register by choosing their lunch on the interactive whiteboard. They will use a hanger to hang their coats up independently.
They put their water bottles and
book bags in coloured boxes that match their House colours.
Children can select an activity of
their choice. They can draw, paint, make collages or models, play in the sand, water or role play areas. There will be op-portunities to use the computers as well as enjoy the bikes and the garden outside.
There will be teacher led activities and opportunities to use the school hall for indoor games, play instruments, join in with learning new songs and listen to stories in small groups and as a whole class.
The children have access to the
toilet facilities at all times and are encour-aged to drink their water which can be refilled from the Drinking Water tap.
Children are provided with a
morning fruit snack and milk is also availa-ble for them, if they choose.
Lunches
We have lunch at 12.00pm every day in the school hall. We are a healthy school and lunches are well balanced with a main meal and vegetarian option. Children will be able to choose their lunch from the menu provided in advance. Lunches are free for chil-dren, at the moment, until they reach Year Three.
If your child prefers a packed lunch it needs to be in a named lunch box. We en-courage a simple, easy to eat meal such as a sandwich, fruit, vegetables and a drink. Chil-dren will take home what they do not eat. Chocolate and sweets are not allowed in school. Please let us know as a matter of ur-gency if your child has any medical issues, die-tary requirements or allergies Please do not send nuts or nut products into school as we are a … NUT FREE SCHOOL Medical Matters Please keep your child at home if he/she is unwell or has a temperature. A period of at least 48 hours at home is required fol-lowing sickness and /or diarrhoea. However if your child needs to take prescribed medication at school, a form must be completed at the school office.
