We present to you our season's collection of time honored, traditional organic open pollinated vegetable seeds.

Apart from our regular hard-to-find, all time favorites of multicolored tomatoes which are aromatic and highly nutritional, we share a wide range of varieties from capsicum, cucurbits, ladies fingers, corn, brinjal, lettuce, beans, watermelon, gourds… seed varieties. In addition, we offer this year 29 new varieties in our collection.

Our search to conserve traditional seed varieties continues. We request you to exchange traditional seeds with us to multiply and make them available to all.

101 Varieties Early Niagara Giant Italian White


1. Green Leaf A black seeded variety cultivated especially for its leaves. A local variety of amaranth (keerai) with green leaves white striped, hardy plant, self sowing, which can reach 1 m in height. The inflorescence is pale green, yellowish. The leaves are extremely nutritious.

2. Red Leaf A white seeded variety cultivated mainly for its leaves. A local variety of amaranth (keerai) with beautiful dark red leaves and inflorescence. Vigorous growth, the plant can reach 2 m in height. The leaves are extremely nutritious.

3. Tricolour A black seeded variety cultivated mainly for its leaves. A variety of amaranth (keerai) with beautiful tri colored leaves and inflorescence. The abundant leaves are red- purple inside with thick green margin. Vigorous growth, the plant can reach 2 m in height. The leaves of this variety are large and extremely nutritious.

6. Flat Beans / Avarakai It is a medium sized flat bean from 5 – 10 cm long growing in bunches.The plant is a climber, very productive, adapts better to warm climates. Full green beans are very delicious when harvested tender, seeds are used for cooking if harvested mature.

7. Long Cowpea A long thin bean from 20 to 30 cm long growing in bunches. The plant is a climber, very productive, adapts better to warm climates. Beans are very delicious when harvested tender.

8. French Beans - Pelandron The green beans have purple markings. The seeds are white in colour with few small black spots. The variety is late and productive and do well in cool climates.

9. French Beans - Victory Dwarf and compact variety. The green beans are stingless and do well in cool climates. The seeds are black. The variety is very productive and late.

Edible Gourds 10. Long Edible

The fruits of this local variety of gourd can reach 60 cm long and 10cm diameter. The skin is light green. The taste is sweet.

13. Apple Green This fine variety is very early and perfect for cool climate, although it does well in warm climate. The ovals to round fruits are light green in colour, and weigh around 120gms. The flesh is white, tender and mild-flavored. The skin is very thin and does not need to be peeled. Good for cooking as the fruit bear few seeds. The plant grows 60-90cms tall and is pretty productive.

14. China Long This unusual variety produces 15 to 20 cm long black-purple fruits which taper to a sword like point. The flesh is white, very tender and of nice flavor. This vigorous and productive plant is disease resistant. This variety is original from China. It is also known as Chinese Long Sword or Chinese Long

15. Dark Long Red This variety produces fruits of 10 cm long and 3-4cm in diameter. They are born in clusters. The skin is bright purple. The one meter plants are vigorous, drought resistant and very productive.

16. Diamond This very early variety produces 15-20 cm long dark purple fruits which weigh around 170 g and have an excellent texture and flavor. The flesh is firm without bitterness. The plants are 45-60 cm tall.

BRINJAL / AUBERGINE / EGG PLANT Scientific name: Solanum melongena, Family: Solanaceae, Seed quantity: 200 seeds / packet


17. Imperial Black Beauty This popular variety produces between 4 to 6 fruits (even more when they are regularly harvested). The fruits are round, oval and black and weight between 400 and 1200 g. They keep very well and they do not have the usual spiky stems. The plants grow to under a meter and so some staking is required.

18. Oval violet

The fruits are oval and 10-12 cm long. The skin is pink and violet. The fleshy fruits reach an average size and a weight of 100 gr. Good flavor. The plant grows 70 to 80 cm tall.

19. Purple Cluster This variety is very productive of black purple fruits born in cluster of 4; each pretty fruit of 10 to 15 cm long are only 3 cm in diameter. This variety is originally from China. It is also known as “Chinese”.

20. Rosita

The fruits in a drop shape are 20 cm long. The skin is lavender purple. The flesh is one of the whitest and sweetest of all.

21. Thai long Green The fruits are 30 - 35 cm long, slender and cylindrical. The thin skin is light green. The flesh is tender and mild. The plants are hardy, vigorous, drought resistant and productive. They are 60 cm tall and mostly spineless or soft – spine. The flowers are deep lavender with green soft spineless calyxes.

22. White Oval

The fruits are oval shaped and milky white in color. The flesh is soft, tender and mild. The plants are hardy, vigorous, drought resistant and average productive. They are 60 cm tall and mostly spineless or soft - spine.

23. Banana Early Sweet The tapering wax fruits are 12-15cm long. They start out pale green, ripening to yellow and then red. The flesh is sweet and mild. Excellent for market garden. Compact and a heavy producer of up to 50 fruits per plant.

24. Bull’s Horn Red The vigorous and branching plants produce good yields of 15-22cm long by 4 cm wide sweet peppers. The fruits turn from green to gorgeous red when mature. They taper to a curved point, resembling the horn of a bull. They are very juicy and delicious.

25. Early Niagara Giant This Variety produces good yields of 10 cm long dark green sweet bell peppers. The fruits have thick walls and turn from dark green to red when mature.

26. Emerald Giant

This Variety produces good yields of 11 cm long by 10 cm wide dark green sweet bell peppers. The 4 lobed fruits have thick walls and turn from dark green to red when mature. The plants are 70 cm tall. This variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus.

27. Goldie The 8- 12 cm long bell pepper may weigh up to 120 g. They mature from green to yellow to orange to bright red. The plants are 50 cm tall. It is a beautiful variety, compact and productive. Excellent for market garden.

28. Italian Sweet The 15cm long fruits turn red when fully mature. The flesh is not very thick. The flavor is sweet and delicious. The variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus. Excellent for market garden.

29. Jupiter This variety produces good yields of large 4 lobed sweet bell peppers, which turn from green to red when fully mature. They are extremely blocky and have thick walls. The vigorous and upright plants are 70 cm tall.

30. Miniature Chocolate Bell It is a miniature bell pepper. The 2-3 lobed fruits are 5cm long. They are green turning brown when fully ripe. The flesh is thick and very sweet. The plants are 40cm tall and may bear up to 60 fruits. Excellent for children as raw source of C vitamin.

The large blocky 3 to 4 lobed fruits are green turning bright red when fully mature. Flesh is thick walled and sweet. The variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus. A beautiful variety.

33. Bangalore Long Red The 10-15cm long, slim, tapering fruits turn red when ripe. The plant may reach 1 meter. This variety is used in traditional south Indian cooking. The plant is very productive.

34. Cayenne The 10-15cm long, slim, tapering fruits turn red when ripe. The plant may reach 1 meter. This variety is used to make crushed red pepper flakes and ground pepper. A well known branded variety.

CHILLY / HOT PEPPER Scientific name: Capsicum annum & C. frutescens, Family: Solanaceae, Seed quantity: 100 seed / packet


35. Great Black The fruit is 4-6 cm long, it is a mildly hot variety. The plant may reach 1 meter. The green fruit will turn to purple and red when mature. The plant is very productive.

36. Habanero Orange

Very aromatic flavorful variety. The fruits turn from green to orange when mature. This variety grows into vigorous 1 meter large-leaved plants and is specifically recommended for areas with long hot summers. It is eaten mainly raw as it loses its subtle texture, when cooked. A well known branded variety.

37. Jalapeno The conical-shaped fruits are thick walled and juicy and measure 5-7.5 cm long. They are red when fully mature. It is the perfect variety for stuffing. The smoked chipotle peppers are made from this. This variety is totally adapted to warm climates. The plant may grow to 1m. A well known branded variety.

38. Jasmine bud The fruit looks like a “parrot eye” It’s a very hot variety; the fruit is 1 cm maximum in length. On maturity the fruit turns from yellowish-green to red in colour. The plant is 1 to 1.5 m high and is very productive.

39. Medium Long Red These plants grow up to 1 meter high and produce 8 cm long fruits which turn from green to red when ripe.

40. Tabasco Short yellow

A very hot variety, the 2.5 cms long fruits turn from yellowish-green to yellowish-orange when mature. The plant is 1m high. A well known branded variety.


41. Golden Midget The vigorous plants yield very small cobs, 10-12 cm long. They have 8-12 rows of golden yellow kernels which are sweet and tender. The height of the plant ranges from 60 cm to 1.2 meter.

42. Inca Rainbow One of our very favorite varieties of sweetcorn. The fresh kernels are white and yellow. The cobs are 30 cm long and are multicolored when fully mature. The stem of this plant can reach 3 meters and is sometimes colored red. A spectacular variety.

43. Martian Purple This vigorous and spectacular plants yield medium sized cobs of 20-25 cm long. They have 8-12 rows of purple kernels which are sweet and tender. The height of the plant ranges from 60 cm to 1.2 meter.

44. Pop Corn Purple A very unique and original variety with 12-30 cm long cobs. Every Kernel of the corn and each cob are covered by a tiny husk or glumes. The colour of the glumes on each ear can be delicious white, cream, red, brown or purple. Each plant bear 3 to 5 cobs. Excellent as baby corn.

45. Coromandel Coast The 15 to 20 cm long fruits are light green, very sweet, even the over mature fruit are fully edible juicy and crisps. A vigorous producer native form coastal Tamil Nadu.

46. Giant Fruit

The 30 to 40 cm long fruit by 15 to 20 cm acroos are light yello- green, sweet and crisp. This fruit is mainly used for juice purpose, although it can be eaten as its early stage when green and young. A vigorous producer native form coastal Tamil Nadu.

47. Clemson Spineless The very vigorous plants may grow up to 1m-1m60. The fruits are deep-green, smooth, pointed and slightly ribbed. They are 15 - 18 cm long. Winter variety.

48. Elephant Tusk The fruits look like an “elephant tusk”. The vigorous plant produce maximum fruit of 10-12 cm long, light green, smooth and spineless. The plants have vigor and may reach 2 meters.

49. Emerald The fruits are dark green, smooth, spineless and perfectly round. They grow to 18-20 cm. The plants have vigor and may reach 2 meters. Winter variety.

50. Long Red The fruits are red in colour, slender, smooth, spineless and tapering end. They grow to 10-15 cm long. The plants have vigor and may reach 2 meters.

51. Silver Queen The fruits are pale green, rounded, 15 cm long and great flavor. The plants have vigor and wide spreading and reach 2 meters in height. Winter variety.

LADIES FINGER Scientific name: Abelmoschus esculentus, Family: Malvaceae, Seed quantity: 60 seeds / packet


52. Tuticorin This variety has green coloured fruit. Good for the Coromandel coast climate. All season.

53. Bisca Rossa An oak-leaf type with bronze coloured leaves. A large variety, productive and well adapted to warm region. This variety is slow bolting and can reach a weight of 350 to 500 gr.

54. Cimarron The leaves are a wonderful mix of green, red and bronze. They are loosely folded on heads and are very tender. The heads are 25 cm tall. This variety weight in average 250 gr.

55. De Verrieres The tight heads are bright green. The leaves are large and delicious. Very good taste. This variety weight in average 250-300 gr.

[[ 56. Green Deer Tongue The loosely rosette shaped heads have slightly triangular, round tipped green leaves with a succulent crispy mid-rib. The heart is creamy, tender and sweet. A very good reliable and delicious lettuce of about 250 gr.

57. Grenoble Red The glossy and finely curled leaves are very tender and flavorful and vary in color from light green to deep magenta. It is a very attractive lettuce forming a barely closed heart shape. This variety is exceptionally cold-hardy as well as heat tolerant. The plants are slow to bolt. This variety weight in average 250-300 gr.

58. Long Standing Batavian

This variety is one of the slowest Batavian to run to seed. The heads are large, crisp and the thick succulent leaves are excellent. This variety weight in average 250-300 gr.

59. Marvel of Four Seasons A beautiful, delicious lettuce with tight rosettes and thick crisp leaves that are deep green tipped with red. The heart forms quickly and stays firm for a long time. This variety is extremely heat and cold resistant. The lettuces are of a darker red in cool weather. This variety can weigh 300 to 500 gr in average.

60. Merlot The tight heads are purple color. An oak leaves blade like. Very good taste and attractive colour. This variety weight in average 250gr.

61. Saint Antoine The thick, glossy, slightly ruffled leaves are bright red on top and green on the underside. A very attractive lettuce, productive and large. . This variety can weigh 300 to 500 gr in average.

62. Saint Vincent The large, full, scalloped, tender leaves are green with a bronze tinge. The flavor is mild and the texture tender. This variety can weigh 300 to 500 gr in average.

63. Tender multicolor The loose rosette is formed of tender green and red leaves. The variety is very attractive, mixed color, excellent for taste and decoration. This variety average 250 gr.

64. Radichetta This unique variety has somewhat a delicate flavor of corn salad. The leaves are green and oak shaped. The variety is very hardy and re-seeds very easily during the autumn. A delicious and crisp lettuce. This variety can weigh 250 to 400 gr in average.


65. Medium Long The luffa is cultivated for its fruit which is eaten when it is still very young and immature. When the fruit as completely matured it is used as a vegetable sponge.

66. Medium Long Green A small trees reaching 3 to 5 meters height also easily propagated by cutting.The young and green fruit is 30-40 cm long and changes its colour to light brown on maturity. The plant produces heavy clusters of pods. The plants are very vigorous and productive. Outstanding nutritious qualities, also the leaves are used as ‘spinash’ and are traditionally used and cooked for pregnant women.

67. Rucola Cultivated The Cultivated rucola is very resistant to cool weather. The leaves form a small rosette and grow 20-40 cm high. It requires frequent watering to prevent it becoming too hot. The flowers are also edible. The leaves are best used when 7-10 long and are slightly spiced.

68. Long White The plant is a climber grows up to 3-5 meters. The young fruit is light green in colour and change to red on maturity. The size of the fruit is 1 meter long and a plant can produce about 4 fruits.

MORINGA / DRUM STICK Scientific name: Moringa oleifera, Family: Moringaceae, Seed quantity: 15 seeds / packet

Cucurbita maxima 69. Golden Delicious One of our favorite. It is a smooth skinned variety of Golden Hubbard. The fruits are heart shaped and weigh from 3 to 8 kg. Their rind is shiny red - orange. The flesh is very smooth, fine textured and orange. The flavor is delicious and the vitamin C content is very high. Each vine can produce 2 to 4 fruits. It is a good keeper. This variety is frequently used for baby food. Excellent for market garden.

70. Green Hokkiado Each plant of this variety bears 1 to 3 grey-green fruits, which average 1-2.5 kg. The yellow flesh is very sweet,non-fibrous and dry. The fruits keep excellent for up to 1 year.

71. Potimarron The beautiful red-orange fruits have a chestnut flavor. They average 2-4 kg. The flesh is orange,sweet and delicious. A good keeper, from 4 to 8 months.

72. Potimarron Big Fruit

The vines are trailing on 5-6 meters. The spherical fruits are with or without ribs. The skin is yellow to salmon and netted when mature. The flesh is thick, yellow, fine grained and tender. The fruit keep from 2 to 4 months.

73. Potimarron Red Curry The dark bricked red coloured fruits have a chesnut flavour. They average 1.5 – 2.5 kg and have the shape of a spinning top. The flesh is orange, sweat and delicious. The variety is a good keeper from 4 to 8 months.

Cucurbita moschata 74. White Ash

Big Oval fruits weighing 6 to 15 kg. Ochre skin with Orange flesh, very delicious. Variety with a very vigorous growth.

SQUASH / PUMPKIN Scientific name: Cucurbita spp, Family: Cucurbitaceae, Seed quantity: 25 seeds / packet


75. Italian White The annual plants are 2 meters in height. The flowers are 8-10 cm in diameter and colored yellowish white or creamy white with a chocolate black heart. The plants are very branched out have an abundance of flowers.

Red Tomatoes 76. Bonny Best

This variety requires no staking. The fruits are medium size, 150-200 g, round, with a bright red colour and very firm flesh. It is an ancient variety, particularly adapted to the coooler regions. It is very vigorous and productive and has sparse foliage.

77. Burbank This is very sweet and juicy, heavy yielder. The fruits are 100 gms in weight and have a very deep red colour. This variety combines disease resistance, high in amino acids with high productivity. Excellent for market garden and highly recommended.

78. Early Siberian This variety bears clusters of 10 or more medium sized fruit. Very good to excellent flavour for an early tomato. Compact flesh, keeps well. Indeterminate growth. This variety is a heavy producer.

79. Family Best The plants are adapted to short seasons and higher altitudes. This is a potato leaf variety with indeterminate growth. The fruits average 60 g.

80. Peasant The plants will set 100 classic roma-shaped tomatoes from each plant. The 100g fruits with thick walls are nevertheless fresh and juicy with a very good flavour. Also makes good sauce. One of our most productive variety.

TOMATO Scientific name: Lycopersicon esculentum, Family: Solanaceae, Seed quantity: 100 seeds / packet


81. Santiam The red and round fruits average 120 gm and have a rich and excellent flavour. The plants are resistant to fusarium and verticillium. The growth is determinate.

Pink Tomatoes 82. Pink of Berne

The 180-240gms dark pink fruits are slightly ribbed, smooth and round. They are juicy and have a very thin skin and soft flesh. The flavour is delicious. Delicate variety. Indeterminate growth.

Black Tomatoes 83. Black Prince The plants stay fairly small, but are loaded with deep garnet 5cm round fruits. These nice slicers are very juicy and have incredibly rich fruity flavour. The colour of the flesh varies from dark red to a translucent chestnut brown. The fruits should be harvested when the shoulders are dark and still showing a trace of green. Indeterminate growth.

Orange Tomatoes

84. Caro rich A 120-150 gms deep orange fruits which offer a extremely high level of pro vitamin A: 10 times as much as most other tomatoes. This variety is delicious and very productive. Highly recommended. Indeterminate growth.

Yellow Tomatoes 85. Golden Delight One of the very best early yellow tomatoes. The fruits of 90-120g have few seeds. The flavour is sweet. This variety has thick skin resistant to splitting. It is compact, vigorous with determinate growth and a very good producer.

86. Mountain Gold

The fruits are uniform, deep yellow-orange, and very large. They are mild and resistant to splitting. The variety is very vigorous and resistant. A beautiful variety, prefer cooler climate. Determinate growth.

Multi - colored Tomatoes 87. Striped Abundant This variety is highly productive of 5cm diameter round reddish orange fruits. They have clearly defined yellow-orange stripes and have a rich tangy flavour. Indeterminate growth. Excellent for market garden. (variety know also as “ Mr.Stripped).


Cherry Tomatoes - Red cherry tomato

88. Tommy Toes The plants have the wild tomato look and produce apricot-sized fruits on trusses of 6-10 fruits each. Rather late-maturing for a cherry, but they have an excellent full rich tomato flavour and a bright red colour. Also said to be resistant to early and late blight. Much appreciated by children as “garden candy”. Indeterminate growth.

89. Red Pear The plants tend to sprawl all over the place and are loaded with large clusters of red pear shaped fruits. Growth is indeterminate. Excellent for market garden, highly productive .Prefer cooler climate. Much appreciated by children as “garden candy”.

Pink Cherry Tomatoes 90. Podland Pink

The young fruits have a dark green skin striped with a lighter green. The flesh is greenish-white, tender and firm. When fully mature, the fruits are yellowish. The cylindrical are best picked when 15-20 cm long. It is a productive bush variety.
