Arizona Gymnastics Opens This Friday at Home Against Michigan State

TUCSON, Ariz. – No.18 Arizona kicks off the 2016 season on Friday, Jan. 8th at 6 p.m., in McKale Arena against Big 10 competitor, Michigan State.

The GymCat’s home opener marks the start of first-year head coach, Tabitha Yim’s competitive slate with Arizona Gymnastics. She and assistant coaches John Court and David McCreary are excited and ready to get the season underway.

“We cannot wait to get the 2016 season started this Fri-day in McKale,” Yim said. “The team has really pushed themselves this preseason and the level of passion and commitment has been inspiring. We have a great staff and team assembled, and we know our fans will love the artistry, enthusiasm, and team chemistry we bring to the floor.”

The Spartans finished fourth to Arizona last season in a quad meet with Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan. The Wildcats finished the meet with a score of 195.450, ahead of Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, and Michigan State.
