    This appears to be nothing more than a simple

    earring that bears a small rune. A successful DC

    15 Knowledge (runes) check reveals this to be the

    rune for Oath. When worn this earring takes on

    any appearance the wearer would like, but the

    rune always remains.

    Lore:Delve Into Collective Memory orKnowledge (ceremony/mojh)

    DC 20: Hidden as a simple earring, it is

    unknown how many of these exist. The most

    well known belongs to a strange champion of

    magic, a mojh who recruits oathsworn for

    some mysterious agenda.

    This appears to be nothing more than an old

    unreadable map. Once held the bearer feels this

    item could help him or her on a Quest. If the beareris considering a quest, accepts a quest or is

    currently on a quest, then fiery letters appear on

    the map I [insert truename if not unbound] am

    sworn to the hard path of quest, I shall not

    wander from it, I shalt find [insert name of person,

    place or thing quested for].

    Lore:Delve Into Collective Memory or

    Knowledge (Geography/Humans)

    DC 15: No one knows how many of these maps

    were created. Nearly every one traces back toan immortal errant Knight of the Axe. He seeks

    out those who are upon a knightly quest, and

    gives these as gifts after the quester proves

    themself against him. This human nobleman

    has even given these to Knights of the Diamond,

    and bonded agents of the Diamond Throne.

    Abilities:

    Once the oath is sworn, a charge expends (it

    usually holds 10 charges), and the item creates

    an illusionary golden path that only the bearer

    can see. Following that path lead toward the

    object or person that is the subject of the Quest.

    This is the most adventurous path possible (DM

    adjudication), it never avoids exertions or

    obstacles, nor is it the quickest or most direct

    path, yet it does not take the bearer into

    encounters that are insurmountable (DM

    adjudication). If the bearer chooses to leave the

    path (he must sleep, rest and eat on the path),

    he is subject to a curse (DM adjudication but

    should be equal to the bearers challenge

    rating), but only if this is truly a conscious

    choice. (This would be considered a suicidal

    act for purposes of a dominateor charmeffect.)

    If forced from the path by circumstance, the

    bearer must make every effort to return before

    taking any other actions or be subject to the

    curse. The only way to remove the curse is to

    complete the quest, or have a caster who has

    completed a quest cast remove curse.

    This appears to be a long rod or staff carved like

    an approaching army; sometimes it is made into a

    sword pommel or the haft of an axe.

    Lore:Knowledge (History/magic)

    DC 25:This item is hidden from the akashic

    memory and is immune to all divination magic.

    Only seven of these rods were created and

    scattered about by some unknown force

    bound to the land, in the same way that the

    runechildren, totem speakers, and dark

    wardens are. Its most famous use was at the

    Battle of the Central Plains to summon a force

    behind the dramojh battle lines.

    Abilities:

    Anyone who has ever sworn fealty while

    holding this rod appears ready to serve the

    wielder in battle when this rod is broken.

    If given to a player, this rod should have no

    creature sworn to it. Encourage the PC to

    gather followers to his cause, using the

    Leadership feat as a guideline for those who

    would swear fealty upon the rod.

    If given to an NPC, a DM is encouraged to

    make a unique list of NPCs and even

    monsters who have sworn upon this rod. To

    save time, use the generic NPC listed below,

    along with any of the following: dark warden,

    wild radont, centaur, gargoyles, giant eagles,

    giant owls, goblins, any hag, harpies, kraken,

    lamias, lammasus, medusas, merfolk,

    This appears to be a golden olive branch: Words

    in a flowing, changing Common script read I

    [insert name] vow to honor all life and do no

    violence that would dishonor the living, even at

    the cost of my own life.

    Lore:Delve Into Collective Memory or

    Knowledge (Religion/Giant)

    DC 15: A few hundred of these were made

    before the invasion of the dramojh. Few found

    them of any value during that time. They wererediscovered following the giants genocide of

    the dramojh. A greenbond giantess dedicated

    to the Cult of Bitter Respite who sought to

    promote peace throughout all the lands, after

    seeing so much useless killing and death in

    the dramojh war.

    Abilities:

    Once a Peaceful Mage speaks the oath, this

    vine moves and wraps around a greenbonds

    hand, mageblades athame, magisters staff, a

    runethanes most powerful rune or into a witch

    bag.

    Once per encounter up to 3/day, the bearer may

    add a +4 to the DC of any spell that deals no

    damage and has the mind affecting, language

    dependent, truename, or teleportation

    descriptor. If ever the bearer violates the oath,

    he or she suffers a -4 penalty to the DC of all

    spells as a curse. The only way to remove the

    curse is heal the harm caused by the act of

    violence by offering to take the same blow in

    recompense, or have a caster who has never

    committed an act of violence against the living

    cast remove curse.

    This stone has a prominent rune on one side. Along

    with two small runes and an oath written on the

    other side in Common: "Though not born on the same

    day of the same month in the same year, we hope todie so." A DC 15 Knowledge (runes) check will

    reveal that the two small runes are peach, garden,

    and the prominent rune is oath.

    Lore:Delve Into Collective Memory or

    Knowledge (Magic/Religion)

    DC 15: The mage who crafted these belonged to

    the fabled Council of Magisters, intending them

    as a gift to all its members. The collection

    disappeared with the dissolution of that illustrious

    body. No one knows what happened to the

    stones; rumor has it that they fell into the hands

    of a time traveling dragon, who befriended an

    ancient giant.

    Abilities:

    The item only functions when all bearers swear

    the oath, after which the stone can be in any of

    the swearers possession. If one of the

    people who swore the oath is dying or dead,

    the stone summons all the others up to 4

    persons like a bracelet of friends(cf. SRD

    (System Reference Document)). After it

    affects this summoning magic, the oathstone

    shatters.

    Lore:Delve Into Collective Memory or

    Knowledge (Religion/Giant)

    DC 20: It is a state secret how many of these

    scrolls exist. Each one of these names

    corresponds with one of the most notorious

    criminals at large within the Lands of the

    Diamond Throne. These names change at the

    direction of the Lady Protectors edicts, or as

    others are captured. Though there are always

    a total of ten, the Throne provides the names

    and truenames of these criminals, so that the

    wielder has no control over the names that

    appear. Only a Knight of the Diamond who is

    also a bonded agent gains the right to

    dispense these to servants of the throne.

    Abilities:

    1/day when the bearer reads the most legibleoath aloud, he gains a full sensory imprint of

    that fugitive (any of his senses will recognize

    this individual) and a heightenedtracerspell

    leads him toward the individual in question.

    right sinister. An oath appears to be written on the

    inside of this shield in Common, I will be thine shield, I

    have no greater desire than to lay down my life for thee

    DC 15: Forged by a magister, and given to a

    female litorian champion of the diamond throne;

    who guarded the First Sentinel of Serthis when

    he traveled to De-Shammod to report on the

    intrigues of the ruins. The champion died

    protecting the First Sentinel from a champion of

    terror and knight of the axe, who attempted to

    assassinate the gifted akashic leader. None know

    what the knight did with the shield.

    Abilities:Once this oath is spoken the wielder chooses a

    ward, once the ward is chosen the heraldry on

    the sinister changes to the wards. Henceforth if

    the ward is within your natural reach you may as

    an immediate action switch places with the ward

    once per encounter, this movement never

    provokes an attack of opportunity.

    These plain looking heraldry tabards take on the

    appearance their bearers desire If there is

    disagreement between the bearers, make opposed

    Wisdom checks the highest imposes a form on all

    the badges for 1 week. The tabards change size,

    shape, design and coloring. On the inside of the

    tabard is inscribed an oath in Common: "I am a

    sworn companion; I swear to shed my life blood for

    my fellows."

    DC 15:The forty-eight of these made scattered

    into groups of no more than eight and rarely

    fewer than three. One of the most famous

    wearers was a sibeccai oathsworn who died

    fighting off a hoard of spined grapplers while

    holding a narrow rope bridge across a ravine. All

    of his companions died, but the jade and golden

    dragon egg was protected.

    Abilities:

    The items do not function unless all bearers in a

    group take the sworn oath. If a companion,

    wearing a tabard is disabled, or dying, any other

    bearer in sight of the wounded comrade can

    use a lesser transfer woundsspell on the

    wounded one (caster level equal to bearers

    character level) once per encounter as a

    immediate action. Only one transfer lesser

    wounds per set of vestments can be cast per

    encounter, not one per vestment.

    Edgelands around the ancient Duchy of Nem.

    Abilities:

    You must wear the item prominently; if youattempt to disguise it or hide its display, the

    vestments grant no assistance. Whenever anenchantment (charm) spell attempts to makeyou break your oath, a charge expends. Makea second saving throw against the charm. Ifyou succeed, the foe must immediately makea saving throw as if you had cast the charmupon him (with the same DC you faced +2).Should the foe fail the save, the charm takeseffect as if you had cast it upon him.This item usually possesses 10 charges.

    gold.

    DC 15:These are still crafted today by themagister who invented them. Their use gained

    great fame from a female dracha champion of

    battle and the dragons who killed her sworn foe

    Sahetor Wrathdemon in the lighting-filled sky

    above the Forest of Towers. She later

    disappeared entering the Stormvale of the Bitter

    Peaks, and neither she nor her celebrated

    weapon has been seen since.

    Abilities:

    Once the runes are identified, the blade imparts

    knowledge to you of a small, one-hour ceremony.You repeat a mantra that consists of swearing anoath to slay or destroy a specific individual knownto you. You cannot perform this ceremony againuntil that individual is slain or destroyed.

    When wielded against the sworn enemy, thisweapon gains a circumstance bonus to attacksequal to your Charisma Bonus (minimum +1),and a +2 circumstance bonus to damage rolls.You receive an additional +2 bonus per 5character levels you possess.
