Today I would like to show you how you can access various features of the Accelerated Reader Program Software.

Please begin by logging into Accelerated Reader.

From the Homepage we are able to access several features of the AR program software. Let’s begin my accessing your classes’ usernames and passwords. Click on Users.

On this page you will want to click on Class and find your homeroom. Click Search to access your homeroom roster.

On this page you can see the students enrolled in your homeroom. In order to see your classes’ passwords and usernames you will click on the Password tab.

This page shows your student passwords and usernames. Now let’s explore some of the other features you can utilize within AR.

Let’s return back to the AR program software and explore what tools you can utilize to optimize your management of AR in your classroom. Now we will the reports available through the program.

Let’s click on the Accelerated Reader box, and as you see from this screenshot the following box will open. From this box you can chose to run reports, manage preferences and quizzes, and access resources. We will begin by accessing your record books and goals.

There are three options we will want to explore on this page, Reading Practice Quizzes, Reading Practice Goals, and Points Management. We will begin by viewing your students’ reading practice quiz results. Please click on Reading Practice Quizzes.

This tool enables us set AR goals for students, which should be set for each grade level report card.

As you can see from this screen. These students have not yet taken any quizzes, but your class may show multiple quizzes with dates and scores. Next we will explore how you can establish goals for your students. Click on the Goals link under Record Books and Goals on the left side of your screen.

We will explore Points Management next. Click on the Point Management link from the Record Books and Goals page.

Scene 13:

From here you can manage your students’ points and if they have been used for rewards. This is important for monitoring when students utilize their reward points.

Finally, you will want to identify appropriate Setup Rules for your class. You can do this by clicking on the link under Actions on the left hand side of your screen.

You can use this page to setup quiz availability rules. This will be very important when differentiating reading abilities.
