Mission StatementIt is the purpose of the Calgary APTA Festival to bring together piano enthusiasts of all levels and in all styles of playing to share and enjoy music. It is for this reason that classes are non-competitive.

It is the commitment of this festival that each performer will receive an adjudication by a leading clinician in piano music to aid them in moving forward in their learning experience.

It is the hope of this festival that students, teachers and music lovers enrich their musical skills and knowledge each time they participate.

2016 FestivalClasses will be held all day except as shown.

May 2, May 3, May 4 (morning only), May 7, and May 9.

The Showcase Concert will be May 14.

The continued goal of the festival is to provide an opportunity for students to play in a performance atmosphere that is encouraging and constructive. All participants will receive a certificate and a written adjudication.

Calgary APTA Festival 2016

Welcome to the 20th annual Calgary APTA Festival.

The job of organizing the festival this year was shared by a committee. They are:

• Lynn Welling Empey – bookkeeping, registration • Trixie Hennig – database, information organization • Lisa Kiernan – scheduling, teacher information contact • Denisa Calcan – adjudicators, certificates • Charlotte Jacobson – pianos, volunteer scheduling • Kay Alexander – host, games

Beyond this group we would like to extend our appreciation to:

• St. John’s Music for their continued support of the festival by donating the piano and arranging piano tuning.

• Renfrew Baptist Church whose members welcome us each year with kindness and meet our every need.

We hope everyone enjoys their festival experience and leaves inspired to continue their love of music.

The Festival Committee
