Data exchange - Superv ision tools

Remote screen sharing Plant engineers, maintenance engineers and other authorized

users can remotely take over the analyzer screen (the client)

by means of LAN Ethernet software (such as VNC). Authorized

users can carry out all manual operations and settings from a

remote PC. Conduct trouble-shooting before doing any

physical intervention, grab cross-platform screenshots for

reports or presentations, the possibilities are endless.

System integrated solutions AppliTek manufactures and commissions analyzer shelters

addressing the needs of customers wishing to monitor a

complex set of parameters in a single integrated system. In

that case, data collection is assured inside the shelter and

transmitted through the network or an existing telephone

line. If necessary, a special computer cabinet can be installed

in the control room to protect the main control/visualization

data computer system.

From real-time visualization to trouble-shooting: Full integration and communication of AppliTek process analyzers within industrial production sites and corporate networks.

Industrial grade controllers All AppliTek on-line analyzers (process/water) are equipped

with industrial grade controllers optimized for their tasks. The

colour touch screens (size 10.4” or 5.7”, depending on model)

act as human interfaces with an excellent viewing angle and

swift response to touching. Back-up: all data is automatically

retained in case of power failure.

Flexible communication options All AppliTek process analyzers come with industrial 4-20 mA

outputs, the most common analogue transmission standard

available. Ethernet communication by means of the industry-

standard TCP/IP protocol enables easy and reliable integration

into existing corporate networks. MODBUS interfacing is possi-

ble to assure full integration and communication with distrib-

uted control systems (DCS).

EnviroLyzer® Series o f On-l ine Water Analyzers

Challenges for water management Managing both quantity and quality of water resources is

a challenging task for companies, utility industries and

authorities. On-line monitoring helps them to measure

quickly and effectively all the relevant parameters in the

water source. AppliTek’s EnviroLyzer® Series of On-line

Water Analyzers are up to these challenges and represent

a multitude of solutions —resulting in an impressive list

of chemical quality indices and equally corresponding

applications.

Single parameter on-line analysis for industrial water applications.

Boiler feed water

On-line analysis is an excellent strategy to obtain chemical control and, in return, optimal efficiency of boiler operation and steam distribution. Typical parameters measured: Chlo-ride, Hydrazine, Phosphate, (low) Sodium, Silica. Microbiological fouling

Microbiological water treatment is frequently applied in refin-eries, power plants, offshore facilities and others. Automatic dosing systems can be controlled by on-line analysis. Other solutions: organics removal can be controlled by means of TOC analysis (see p. 12). Cooling tower make-up water

Proper maintenance and economy of cooling water systems requires a careful balance between water quality parameters and treatment chemicals. Typical parameters are: Alkalinity, Ammonia, Conductivity, Copper, Hardness, Iron. Waste water treatment / recyling

Increased regulations in waste water discharge requires careful management of treatment processes and recycling. Besides basic nutrients (N-P) most chemical parameters can be determined. Other solutions: analysis of organic sum parameters (TOC, BOD, COD).

Analytical mainframe: configurations

The AppliTOC® can be delivered with a specific analysis configuration, according to your application. For example: in case of Total Carbon, the acidifying stage is bypassed so the analyzer needs one reagent less. Total Organic Carbon (standard) Measure-ment of non purgeable organic carbon (NPOC) Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC) Measurement of inorganic carbon compounds (including volatile organic compounds, VOC) Total Carbon (TC) Measurement of all carbon compounds (with single IR detector) True Total Organic Carbon Measurement of TOCTRUE (= TC – TIC, with double IR detector) Several NDIR detectors with excellent linear output are available in order to suit specific water matrices or measuring ranges.

Performance in a functional package

The on-line analyzer is equipped with precision peristal-

tic pumps, a precision mass flow controller and a user-

friendly industrial computer, packed in an ergonomic

analyzer housing. Purging with instrument air is possible

in case of extreme humidity or risk of accumulation of

corrosive gases The hardened glass door allows instant

visual inspection of the wet-chemical part. For hazard-

ous areas, a third enclosure in stainless steel is available

with all necessary connections, special analytics and con-

trol units, a stand-alone system factory tested to fully

meet ATEX or NEC 500 directives.

Low-temperature oxidation technology

The AppliTOC® delivers more than just automated TOC.

Low levels of detection (LOD) and fast measurements are

evident with AppliTek’s Series of On-line TOC Analyzers,

at a true continuous sampling rate. Comparative tests

with high temperature TOC systems indicate a similar

high oxidation efficiency, which stays constant since no

catalyst is needed. Together with the development of

appropriate sample preconditioning systems, mainly self-

cleaning types, the typical up-time for the on-line deter-

mination of TOC has been increased to more than 98%.
