Christie’s next-generation Entero HB series offers several benefits, including the brightest LED projection for cubes available (up to 1350 lumens capability), top notch illumination technology and superior automatic colour control that delivers the most vivid images. The Entero HB series is also the first and only LED control room display that offers wireless control through Wi-Fi, allowing the user to make brightness and color adjustments, control the wall or perform diagnostic monitoring as required. Designed for zero maintenance, Christie’s Entero HB series works on solid state LED illumination, has no consumables and no scheduled maintenance for at least seven years, making it an ideal choice for MMTV.
The video wall also uses a Christie Spyder 344 image processor, one of the most powerful processors in the broadcast industry. It offers the user with total control and flexibility, allowing mixing a number of multiple sources in multiple windows and creating all kinds of Pictures-in-Pictures. The Christie Spyder 344’s compact modular design also provides options, versatility and power – making it easy to manipulate a virtually limitless variety of inputs through a single output.
To enhance the interactivity and collaboration of the installation, Christie also provided MMTV with an Interactivity Kit which improves the overall audience experience – by providing the user with creative flexibility to incorporate multipoint touch interactivity into large-format digital displays.
Christie’s Interactivity Kit enables the transformation of any large-format video wall into a dynamic and responsive multi-touch surface. As it is designed in pieces, it can fit perfectly around the video wall, and can be configured into 84 different sizes. It is easy-to-use and can be easily installed by simply attaching the perimeter of the display wall and plugging it into a computer without drivers.

This enables the studio crew to display different contents and visuals on the video wall with ease.
As the Interactivity Kit is automatically recognized as a multi-touch device by Windows 7, no manual calibration of sensors or cameras is required. Using the breakthrough Baanto ShadowSense technology, the Interactivity Kit offers excellent performance with high touch accuracy and fast response times, supporting up to 18 touches on a large-format display.
E M Appu, general manager of operations, MMTV, shared the fulfilling changes that Christie has made possible. He said: “The installation went off without hitch. The Christie team was resourceful in being able to successfully work through the challenges along the way. They even had construction workers on-site to help create a frame to install the interactivity kit around the video wall.”
As this project was an in-studio installation, the Christie team had to liaise with a number of different stakeholders such as architects, consultants, cameramen, construction workers as well as MMTV’s technical on-site for a near seamless installation. Each of the stakeholders had different requirements, and Christie’s engineers had to proactively manage all their needs. Overall, the installation was completed on schedule and within budget.
“Christie greatly appreciates the confidence that the MMTV has placed in us and was delighted to provide the broadcast network the support required during the installation of the video wall.” shared Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific “The winning partnership with Godrej also allowed us to deliver superior service support. The installation was simply flawless.”
Since the launch of the new video wall, MMTV has received positive feedback from viewers, advertisers and business partners – thus truly endorsing the project and cementing MMTV’s reputation as one of India’s most innovative media companies.
