Editor’s DeskIn recent times, employment opportunities for the professional graduates
is diminishing and it has started becoming an alarming concern. There are lot
of surveys and boards which confirms the same. These young and dynamic
professionals are unwelcomed in industries either because of absence of skills
required in the highly technical nature of jobs or their acquired skills does not
match the industry requirements. This industry demand and supply gap can
be minimized only if these professionals are acquired by the companies. In my
opinion, the biggest challenge in our country is not employment rather
employability. It is very disheartening to see these professional graduates
applying for sweeper jobs in our country. Being in the manufacturing and
training industry for about three decades, I perceive companies demanding for
conversant professionals. From my standpoint, I strongly believe that, if these
professionals receive proper direction and mentors on cognitive, behavioral
and industry specific skills, their professional growth and success will be
commendable.
