Giving to the Church-Life Insurance

You can name the church as an owner and beneficiary of a life insurance pol-icy. You will be able to take a charitable deduction equal to approximately the cash value of the policy at the time of the gift. As a bonus, continued pay-ments of premiums may qualify as charitable tax deductions each year. With the church as owner of the policy, your premium payments would qualify for a tax deduction. When the policy paid out, the church would receive the proceeds to establish a new ministry or support one of the impact programs of our church like the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Honduras. Your planned gift could do so much—stock the pharmacy for a year, provide specialized incubators for babies born prematurely or with health issues, set up a dental office or pro-vide a well and water purification system for the clinic. Dr. Ana Lamon sees over 10,000 patients a year in makeshift conditions. Your gift could insure sterile working conditions for her to minister to these patients. The requirements will vary by individual. If you are interested in this type of gift, talk with your financial advisor and Gina Johnson in the church office.
