ANNUAL ASSEMBLYVIETNAM12-15 MARCH 2017
INSI
DE
RACHEL HUMPHREY President/C.E.O.
WELCOMELETTER
Welcome to our 2nd Annual Assembly! Since our inaugural meeting in Belgium, we have welcomed over 30 new
companies. Our Recruitment Team are constantly targeting areas where Cargo Connections requires coverage and we look forward to continuing our strong
growth, which in turn increases the possibility of your company developing traffic and further cooperation within our network.
As a condition of membership, we ask that you offer your fellow Members the chance to quote when new business comes into your office - it is then up to them to
provide excellent rates and service to win the business. As we continue into 2017, please can you ensure that you do this? If every company does, we
will see a fantastic rise in inter-trade this year.
We have added a Skype chat icon to each profile page so you can start a conversation directly from our website
with just one click – so easy!
On a personal note, I must say that having already established the 17-year-old Universal Freight
Organisation and 7-year-old Project Cargo Network; I am thoroughly enjoying the new challenge of building
Cargo Connections into an equally strong group.
Our gathering in Danang will enable you to introduce your company, discuss cross trade and potential collaborations, as well as providing information regarding your country’s regulations and requirements. Our 1-2-1 meetings also provide an opportunity to share key import and export trade information.
Therefore, we hope the next few days will be fruitful for your company, and that you enjoy your time with us.

For the Gala Dinner, we advise smart casual attire. We recommend a business suit, for the start of
our meeting as our Official Group Photo will be taken at 9.30. The warm and dry weather
makes March one of the best times to visit Danang with daily
highs ranging from 25°C to 30°C.
DRESS CODE & WEATHER
On Monday 13 March, our dinner excursion will be a chance to unwind with new and old friends after a busy day in the meeting room. We will travel together by coach to a waterfront restaurant and enjoy a 3-course dinner of delicious Vietnamese dishes before returning back to our hotel. Located by the Han River, the restaurant designers have created an interior that is fresh and modern, yet balanced with an Asian ambience. The drinks included are Classic Mojito and Cosmopolitan Cocktails, Peroni Beer (Italy), Cabernet Sauvignon (France), Brut Reserve Sparkling (Australia), Sauvignon Blanc (France) as well as soft drinks and juices.
DINNER EXCURSION
MY SON SANCTUARYOn Wednesday 15 March, you have the
option to relax with fellow delegates and visit the UNESCO World Heritage, My
Son Sanctuary, the unique and beautiful site of the ancient Chăm religion. It is one of the foremost Hindu temple sites in South East Asia and the remaining structures conjure images of the majesty of the Champa Kingdom. For the Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the 2nd to the 13th century, My Son was an important
religious site and place of worship. We will leave our hotel at 08:00 for an hour’s drive to the My Son Holy Land. On arrival we will be guided around the complex of 20 monuments in a valley surrounded by mountains and overlooked by the impressive Cat Tooth Mountain. We will learn about Cham culture, architecture and civilization and enjoy a Champa musical performance. We will then have lunch with local food before returning back to our hotel at 13:00.
WELCOME DINNEROn Sunday 12 March at 18:00 we will gather at the Pool House Garden to collect name badges, meet fellow delegates and enjoy a welcome drink before we enjoy a Gala Dinner together. We aim to include as much in our Registration Fee as possible in order to keep each delegate’s expenses to a minimum so we have arranged for beer (Tiger), red wine (Lindemans Shiraz Cabernet), white wine (Lindemans Semillon Chardonnay), soft drinks and mineral water to be included from 18:00-22:00.

Each company is required to be an active Member, prepared to reciprocate business and attend our
Annual Assembly in order to develop business within the spirit of Cargo Connections. Our aim
is to have only professional and pro-active agents in Cargo Connections.
The majority of Members recognise the importance of supporting and actively contributing to those who are less fortunate. We are aware that a small effort from each Member can make a big impact to those in need. The Cargo Connections Foundation provides the opportunity for Members to be able to make a difference to people’s lives through annual fundraising.
By getting involved in annual fundraising, we have fun, reinforce our position as a good corporate organisation whilst at the same time, contributing to campaigns that really make a difference to people’s lives. Obviously, there is no obligation for any Member to take part in the fundraising. We simply want to present the opportunity for Members who want to participate in the worthy causes.
In 2015, Cargo Connections proudly sponsored an SOS Children’s Village youth family house. www.sos-childrensvillages.org.
Since 2016, we are raising funds for The Dream Trust www.dreamtrust.org to help poor children with Type 1 Diabetes. People at large, in India, are not medically insured and have to buy their own insulin and syringes. Poor families find it difficult to commit a quarter of their monthly income for the healthcare required by a diabetic child. This is why they try to find short cuts which they wrongly believe will make treatment less expensive. This charity was chosen as it is close to the heart of CC President/C.E.O. Rachel Humphrey, who’s youngest son, George was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 9 years old, in October 2010. Rachel says “We are fortunate in the UK to have George’s insulin and medication supplied by our health service. I understand that in India, many diabetic children from poor families suffer as their parents are sometimes unable to afford the medication that they need. I know the worry and fears for diabetic parents and hope that together, we can help them.” See our website for more details.
