With a background in paediatric nursing, Julie Anne

Grasso spent many years literally wrapping children in

cotton wool. Every day she witnessed great courage

and resilience from the tiny people she cared for,

which inspired her to write stories about a little girl elf

just like them.

She has a degree in Nursing from Queensland University

of Technology and has been published in her nerdy

nursing specialty in medical journals, but her true love is

writing about elf worlds that preferably involve some

kind of dessert obsession.

She has an awesome husband who loves to do battle

in the computer trenches every day and a 3 year old

elf called Giselle.

The Disappearing Cars By ___________________

White cars were driving into the cul-de-sac dead-end road and disappearing. There was

a lake behind the houses, and a forest. Some people in the neighborhood were moving

and had a moving van in front of their house. Several used cans of black spray paint

were found in the woods. I can solve this mystery!

dimension? Why was he unhelpful to Frankie?

6. What is funny about Cluesome?

7. Will Enderby Manor remain on Satellite images from now on? Why?

Thinking Questions to Discuss Name ___________________

Read the questions silently. Think for a few minutes. Discuss possible answers.

1. Do you think Myrtle was vacuuming the fifth floor for ten years? She was thinking it was opening

day ten years before, so perhaps the fifth floor was in suspended time.

2. Do you think Evelyn knew what was going on and tried to hint to Frankie so he could solve the

mystery? Evelyn knew but couldn’t say for some reason, it seemed. So she did encourage Frankie

as she wanted to go home. Also, her library books were overdue.

3. What did Madame Mercure, Igor, and Gerome Genome have to gain from remaining in the other

dimension? Madame Mercure was stuck in the past, Igor wouldn’t be able to talk, and Gerome

would only be an inanimate garden gnome.

4. Do you think there is another dimension? Why or why not? Answers will vary!

5. Did Simon have anything to gain from remaining in the other dimension? Why was he unhelpful to

Frankie? Simon is unable to manage the kitchen without Igor’s help.

6. What is funny about Cluesome? His name is the opposite of his personality, he is bumbling and not

clued in about modern technology.

7. Will Enderby Manor remain on Satellite images from now on? Why? Well, yes, it is back in the 3rd

dimension so it will be visible on satellite images 365 days a year.

8. Do you think Myrtle’s Maze will remain? Will the large hand remain now that the building permit has

been approved? Hmmm, I would hope there would be an easier way to get cupcakes.

9. Do you think people and things still go into the mirrors in the future? No, they are back in reality

probably.

10. Why had Evelyn worked at the manor ten years to the day? Why did they think Ernest Charles had

died ten years ago? Why had Gerome been the gardener for ten years? The manor entered the

other dimension ten years ago by not having the building permit approved, so that was when many

events happened.
