PRIORITIES FOR FUTURE
FAITH SURVEY RESULTS
CTR Audited Financial Statements | Alberta K-12 Financial Statements
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT CTR engages its parents and other stakeholders
through online surveying related to core priorities,
School Council meetings, and world cafés scheduled
annually in most communities.
We will identify gaps caused by interruptions to
learning related to Covid-19 during this and the
previous school year, and develop strategies to
ensure students have the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes required for success in future grades.
We will cautiously review and adapt our major
summative assessments (mid-term and final exams)
in consideration of this school year without
Provincial Achievement Tests.
We will continue and enhance our usual focus on
essential learning outcomes, considering that
students have missed some instructional time in the
past twelve months – this focus will maximize
learning during the instructional time we do have
with students this year.
We will continue to stimulate student engagement
in their learning by making strong connections
between curriculum and their background
knowledge, while also focusing on students’
independent learning skills which will serve them
well in future (self-advocacy, ownership for grades in
PowerSchool, time management, etc.).
We will continue to leverage CTR’s #Relationships in
a Digital Age initiative to minimize distractions from
learning, and widen students’ interest in learning
about diverse topics and skills as lifelong learners.
We will review our slate of option courses to
improve student engagement and widen student
skills in non-traditional areas.
We will continue to enhance our skills with
inclusive instruction and assessment to help all
learners succeed in our classes.
We will continue to invest in technology skills
which can sharpen our instructional skills, and
lead to improved student learning.
Under the leadership of our department heads,
we will continue to develop robust goals within
our subject-area teams to improve student
learning.
TARGETED AREAS
During CLC’s and other opportunities, and by
leveraging the facilitation of our school Faith Team,
we will continue to invest time in staff faith
development to model different forms of prayer
which our staff will use with students to help them
develop a meaningful prayer life.
To enhance the growth of individuals as Christians
within our Catholic school, we will continue to
permeate our faith in subjects other than Religion
class. Increased permeation will affect students’
worldview and encourage them to see the world
around them more often with lenses of faith.
We will continue to access professional
development for the revised provincial Religion
curriculum in Grade 7 Religion classes this year, and
Grade 8 next year, so that students can relate even
more strongly to topics and experiences in Religion
classes at our school.
