The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. It is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. On March 12, 2017 IIK celebrated its 6th Holi event. IIK Holi event has been improving year by year with addition various activities and games to the event. It all started with spark of Holi in the hearts of IIK friends in 2012. In 2012, IIK kicked of Holi event with a trip to Danyang with colors prepared by IIK families. In 2013, IIK celebrated Holi in a restaurant in Seoul with DJ music and buffet lunch. In 2014, IIK decided to make it big and rented an open space at Ichon Hangang Park located across the banks of the Han river in Seoul. Since 2014, this park has become favorite place for celebrating Holi every year. Every year the event is open to all people regardless of gender, age, religion and nationality. In the recent years, the percentage of foreigners has been increasing and the event popularity is increasing more and more. As did on event of every year, this year also people enjoyed playing colors with DJ music across the riverside. Tug of war has been the favorite game played every year at the event. Special games for kids and couple dance competitions added extra fun to the event. Luckily it was warm day compared to other days in winter and helped everyone to release all the stress accumulated during the winter. The event ended with delicious lunch from Royal India restaurant filling all the hungry stomachs.

The energetic and young hosts Kuldeep Kasana and Anshika Jangra kept entertaining the audience with charming talks and short games. The powerful performances by the dance performers during the event made everyone feel like live theater and the high energy in the hall made them feel that they are in India and not in Korea. The creative and fun games organized by Naveen Maheswari and Vijay Dhoot moved everyone to their childhood, and winners and participants in each game were awarded with valuable gifts. IIK Cricket Club 2017

Indians have been playing cricket in Korea since Korea Cricket Association (KCA) was formed. The club is made up of “Social” cricketers. Some players are regular but others are timely players. For 2007 ~ 2012 we were playing in the name of “Lions Indian”, but 2013 saw a shift when we started playing under banner of Indians In Korea. It gave birth to IIK Cricket Club(IIKCC). Our first aim is to have fun, be inclusive of everyone who is Indian and interested in Cricket. Quality and discipline are not compromised in any possible way during the games resulting in ranking us higher on the rank. IIK CC currently participates in 2 competitions. One of them is KCA Chairman’s Cup Cricket league organized by KCA . GCL is a 20 overs competition played in Yeonhui Cricket Stadium, Incheon every Sunday. Duration –Spring~ Autumn each year. The league is comprised of 12 teams from all over Korea. Competition and desire to win emotion could be felt during the game. The other league is KCA Super Six Tournament. This is the shortest format of the game. Played with 6 players each team with the over limit of 6. We also play friendly game within us very often either in Seoul National Ground, Suwon University, SKKU or other available places. Team Selection Policy for various competitions 1. KCA Chairman’s Cup Cricket league: the best available team plays. This team will be picked by a 3~4 people selection panel who will choose the team based on who they think will be competitive against the opposition in that game. Current form, your role as a cricketer ( eg spinner/opener/wicket keeper, etc), your form the last time we played that side, how you are performing at training, are just some, but not all, of the ways the panel will choose the team. 2. KCA Super Six : the best available fit to the format of the game will be the main criteria. As Super Six tournament is totally different format, every players should bowl and bat well. So only all-rounder players will get the first chance excluding keeper as he dosnt need to bowl. 3. Friendly Games : First priority goes to people who have been available for league game and may have missed out. 4. Fun type game : The main purpose of this kind of tournament is to have fun. So to have more fun we make a balance teams with all available player. So no such strict rules for team selection. Who can join and how to Join in IIKCC Anyone from India who knows how to play cricket can be part of IIKC team selection process. If he is compatible enough and suitable for IIK CC team would be always welcome. This comprehensive survey documents the interaction between the two governments, relying on facts and hitherto unpublished original records provided by India's Ministry of External Affairs; offers an illuminating account of India's active role as a neutral party in the post-Second World War events of the Korean War and the division of the Korean Peninsula; and provides a vision of the future direction of India–Korea relations. The author also shares candid observations of Korean society and its people during his service as Ambassador of India in Seoul. The work will be useful to policy makers as well as students of politics and international relations, strategic studies, economics, and contemporary world history.

Examining the underlying logic of the strategic and economic partnership between the Republic of Korea and India, this book is the first detailed study of the numerous facets — cultural, economic, people-to-people, and strategic — of blossoming relations between two major Asian democracies.
