WELCOME
P2-3 Project in the picture
This time we visited 2 private homes:
1 owner, 2 projects and we saw how
Vantage makes the difference.
A renovated warehouse in a big city,
a majestic residence in one of the
most beautiful places on earth: all
the ingredients are present for an
enjoyable and fascinating discovery
journey.
Antwerp vs. the French Riviera.
‘North‘ vs. ‘South‘.
P4 New Products
Vantage‘s newest innovation: the Digital Music Manager is not just another digital audio server: it transparently seeks
out all digital music in the home. The DMM gives homeowners the chance to enjoy their personal music library to the
full. The system integrates with Vantage’s InFusion Control platform and interfaces with the family of touchscreens.
WePoint 2.1, the updated version of Vantage’s remote access software brings the power of home automation to your fi nger-
tips, at home or anywhere in the world. Using the WebPoint application, homeowners can monitor and control integration
solutions as lighting, comfort, security and entertainment in real time using an iPhone, Blackberry or any wireless device.

Vantage “Driver Tools” Training, September 2009
Once people have tried
Vantage, they fi nd they
can no longer do without
it. We see this more and
more all the time: cus-
tomers who value qual-
ity of life and therefore
have Vantage in their
homes want to have the
same comfort in their
offi ce, place of business
or second home abroad.
Vantage dealer Marc
Tuytten from Home Au-
tomation Services con-
fi rms the trend. He was
happy to show us such
a ‘duo project’.
Marc Tuytten has been
working with Vantage
for over 10 years. At fi rst,
he still did conventional
electrical installations,
but he soon became a
true ‘integrator’ in heart
and soul. And a very suc-
cessful one, by the way.
Now he only does home
automation projects,
which he carries through
from A to Z.
How can his success be
explained? Well, to start
with, he is involved in the
design of his projects,
which means he knows
them inside out. On top
of that, he has in-depth
knowledge of Vantage
as a product.
“Right from the start, I
installed Vantage in my
own home”, says Marc.
“Virtually everything was
integrated that could be:
home theatre, motorised
curtains, touchscreens,
etc. That meant I could
receive prospective
customers in my home,
which simultaneously
served as showroom,
and make the great ben-
efi ts of home automa-
tion immediately clear.
And because I live with
Vantage day in, day out,
I know the system like
the back of my hand”.
Marc is currently using
his own home mainly to
test this or that prod-
uct himself. Since he has
been doing mostly large
project for some time,
he sticks to an average
of two projects a year.
And he adds: “I always
tell my customers that
a project is never really
fi nished. Tomorrow they
buy the latest TV or the
children grow up and
leave home, so custom-
ers’ needs change”. Or
they have become own-
ers of a second home,
like this exclusive project
that Marc is letting us
take a peek at today.
One owner, two projects
The surprise is even
nicer, since it turns out
that it involves not one,
but two projects. In the
heart of Antwerp, we
stand in admiration be-
fore an old warehouse
that has been converted
into a luxurious loft. Af-
ter that, we travel with
Vantage to the French
Riviera, where the cus-
tomer owns a magnifi -
cent second home on
the exclusive Cap Ferrat
peninsula. Although ex-
tremely different, both
projects managed by
Vantage are extraordi-
narily successful.
An oasis of peace and
quiet in Antwerp
On the outside of what
was once a warehouse,
you see nothing of the
sophisticated world
that we see a moment
later when we enter. A
revealing detail: there is
no keyhole on the door.
That sets the tone… In
this building, everything
is automated.
Once inside, one imme-
diately notices how the
industrial look and au-
thenticity of the build-
ing have been retained.
We see an open space,
steel constructions, sim-
plicity. An oasis of peace
and quiet right in the
city centre. An olive tree
on the patio brings the
warmth of the south a
bit closer by.
A lot of attention was
paid to the aesthetic as-
pect as well. Speakers
have been neatly built
into a white wall with
a large plasma screen
and everything is well
hidden away behind a
large canvas. Lighting,
air-conditioning, win-
dows, screens, music,
lift, alarm…. Everything
is connected to the Van-
tage system and runs
like clockwork.
The lift blocks if there is
an alarm and all entrance
doors are automatically
locked. Creative, well
thought out program-
ming is the mark of an
experienced dealer. For
example, the alarm can
be set in two ways, de-
pending on whether the
residents are at home or
away. If they are away,
the windows close, the
lights and fi replace shut
off etc. Are the residents
at home? Then it goes
without saying different
settings are used.
From Q-Link to
InFusion
At fi rst Vantage Q-Link
system was installed
in the loft. After the
introduction of Van-
tage InFusion, Marc ap-
proached the customer
with the suggestion to
upgrade the system,
which he then did with
a rather limited budget.
He explained to us why
he suggested that: “With
Q-Link, I was convinced
I was working with the
best system on the mar-
ket, but InFusion is sim-
ply another level, net-
work level…
Vantage travels along, from Antwerp to the French Riviera
a closer look at a project
Logical too, since tech-
nology keeps evolving
and InFusion is in line
with current develop-
ments. The main advan-
tages? With InFusion, it
is much easier to make
changes by remote con-
trol, and you also get
much better feedback.
With an alarm in the
home in France, you see
a text message on the
screen that indicates
where the failure is.”
It is extremely handy for
the owner that the two
projects work with the
Vantage InFusion sys-
tem. On the Vantage
TPT1210 touchscreen as
well as on his PC, he can
see pictures from the
cameras in his Antwerp
loft and his home in
France and also operate
them, no matter where
in the world he happens
to be. Marc also made
sure that the lay-outs of
the screens are identical
for both projects.
In the meantime, we
have become extremely
curious about the sec-
ond project, which just
like the fi rst one is a
marvel in the area of in-
tegration.
Living in the lap of
luxury
Cap Ferrat… in this ex-
clusive resort on the
French Riviera, we ex-
perience the full mean-
ing of ‘living in the lap
of luxury’. The stylish
home with its warm red
hues is magnifi cent to
see. The owners wanted
to surround themselves
with the same luxury
and comfort as at home.
With their experience
with Vantage in their
Antwerp loft, they knew
better than anyone what
Vantage can do.
So everything is auto-
mated in their second
home too: French shut-
ters, curtains, awnings
(over 70 motors in total),
with which the customer
himself selects if they
automatically open and
shut or if he operates
them individually. The
fi re alarm goes off?
Minimum lighting switches
on, all shutters and cur-
tains open as does the
garage door too. With an
‘ordinary’ alarm, on the
other hand, everything
is automatically locked.
And naturally in both
cases, just as for the loft,
how Vantage works de-
pends on whether the
residents are at home or
away.
More tours de force
Vantage is also entrusted
with full operation of the
heat pumps, for cooling
and heating. The Van-
tage thermostats are lo-
cated in the utility room
and sensors are installed
concealed everywhere
in the home.
On the touchscreen, the
owner can even see the
temperature of the wa-
ter in the water taps, as
well as the water tem-
perature in the outdoor
swimming pool.
The longer we are in
this house, the more we
discover ingenious ap-
plications. Marc has pro-
grammed a double func-
tion in the guest house.
Are there guests stay-
ing there? Then they are
entitled to an adjusted
programming. In addi-
tion, there are no fewer
than 3 languages that
can be used to operate
the touchscreen. A mat-
ter of making everyone
feel at home.
We also have nothing
but praise for the mu-
sic integration. The resi-
dents can listen to their
favourite music every-
where in both homes.
They have the same mu-
sic selection in Antwerp
and Cap Ferrat. And al-
though the music server
is in Antwerp, they can
operate it with touch-
screens that have the
identical lay-out and lis-
ten to it all in their home
on the French Riviera!
Finally, we asked Marc if
he has any Tips & Tricks
for us. “No, actually”, he
replied, “because they
are just adapted to the
project in hand and no two
projects are the same.
Does the customer want
to control everything
automatically and just
have a ‘good morning’
and ‘sleep tight’ button?
Does he want sensors or
not? That is his choice
and I adapt what I do ac-
cording to the custom-
er’s wishes. Of course I
do give my customers
advice.
I draw on my 10 years of
experience with Vantage
for that.”
This ‘duo project’ proves
what an important role
is reserved for the Van-
tage dealer, whose ex-
pertise and creative in-
put helps determine the
end result.

network and enables the homeowner to
play and control it easily from any Vantage

levels of quality and no more having to play
only one stream at a time.
The DMM delivers audio from up to four in-
