6400 Primary Power Supplies

For non-PoE models, all primary supplies are internal:

For PoE models, there are 2 AC PoE supply options, external to the chassis

• A power shelf is used to holds two 360W (primary &

backup) or one 510W (primary) PS• Shelf/supplies plug directly in the back of the unit

• total unit + shelf depth is 44.6 cm/17.56in

Parser - Slice Information

The 6400 has 8 slices @ 256 bytes versus 16 slices @ 128 byte of the packet for examination.

Static reserved slices: 1 slice for system (highest slice). Including arp, ipx, dhcp, bpdu, user ports . 1 slice for system (lowest slice). Including protocol packets (ospf, igmp ..) and port settings (trusted, untrusted ..)

Dynamic assigned slices: 1 slice for dhcp snooping and ip source filtering. 1 slice for anti-spoofing. 1 slice for vlan stacking service. 1 to 2 QOS policies 1 slice for ingress bandwidth

The reduced number of slices limits the number of applications capable of operating the same time. An example is Traffic Anomaly Detection (TAD) and QOS policies simultaneously. Therefore TAD is not available on the OmniSwitch 6400.
