What to do if your child displays symptoms of Covid 19

● Please call 119 or seek to obtain a test online. Your household should isolate immediately.● Contact the school and inform them that your child has symptoms.● Your child can access learning via googleclassroom. ● If your child is in receipt of free school meals you will be offered a grab bag. You will have to arrange for

someone from outside your household to collect from school and deliver.● Once your symptomatic child has been tested you need to inform us of the result as soon as possible, if this is

out of school time then email the result to [email protected]● If the test returns negative your child can return, if the test returns positive then the child will have to isolate for

10 days your household will have to isolate for 14 days from the first day of the child’s symptoms. We will ask you to forward the test results.

● If any member of your household displays symptoms then the household should all isolate and a test should be requested.

What to do if your child’s bubble closes

In the event that the school is informed of a positive test result we will seek advice from the local authority and PHE.

This will then involve 14 days isolation for those children and staff affected. If this should happen out of school time then you will be contacted asking you not to bring your affected child to school, if this is in school time then you will be contacted to collect your child asap.

If a bubble is closed the school will remain open for all other children and staff. If you have one child isolating due to a bubble closure then their siblings can still attend school. However, if your isolating child begins to display symptoms within that 14 day period then you must follow the advice in the box above.

Bubble Closure

In the event of a bubble closure home learning will begin, teaching staff will work from home to ensure that daily tasks are set on google classroom with each day beginning with a google meet. This learning will follow on from learning carried out in the classroom. We would encourage as many parents to support their children to access this learning so they do not miss vital learning during this two week period. We will communicate further details of these arrangement on the first day of closure.

If parents do not have access to the internet or devices then you must inform the office as soon as possible.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

● a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure

your temperature)

● a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing

episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

● a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste

anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital if you have any of these symptoms.

Get a test to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result.
