The acceptance of diversity within neighborhoods promotes our social ideal of a moral community that is

responsive to the need of its citizens. It breaks down stereotypes and allows us to acknowledge our responsibility to

promote the welfare of all citizens.

Opponents of affordable housing aren't all evil, and project sponsors aren't universally righteous. Through a

better understanding of citizens' moral concerns we can help neighbors appreciate the development of supportive housing within their

neighborhood.
