turning around gates as a tool for members to achieve ski improvement
From our website:!The Alberta Masters Ski Club is a group of passionate skiers who ski in a semi-structured environment with goals of improving ski technique and racing skills using a combination of technical free skiing and gate training sessions.!The foundation of the group is a social and supportive environment where encouragement and active participation rule. !

On Snow Program • Depending on time of year, number of athletes and gate
space availability will depend on when athletes ski in gates **we need to be flexible.
• November - December: • Technical Free skiing, stubbies and feather dusters • Limited gate space /snow • Everyone skis with together
• January – March • Full gate courses, Technical Free Skiing • Based on number of athletes and hill space, groups
split in 2
On Snow Structure • 2 Coaches • New – Team Lead Assists session coach with organizing athletes, slip crews on gate training days Designed to allow us to have a coach with a free ski group on gate • Each athlete to have and set the own goals with the coaches
prior to the start of the season

• Being a member has a set of expectations • You will sign into the Code of Conduct when you register • Remember that this club is a group of volunteers

• Be an active member – ensure you contribute to our community
• Be on the hill 15 minutes before the session to setup or be the last people on the hill to tear down
• Keep the Code of Conduct in mind at all times
Gate Training Days • Lots of work to set up and
maintain the courses
• 8:50 AM in the lift line
• Setting, drilling, screwing, slipping, dyeing, rolling, bundling, bungeeing, raking, shovelling, etc.
• Everyone using the course is expected to help with set up and/or teardown
Club Expectations on Snow • Rotation system used
for course work
• Athletes will “tag off” other athletes
• More smaller bundles of gates
• Warm up and Inspect before you get in the gates
