Qudsi Hadith

• Qudsi Hadith is defined as the divine communication whose revelation is not part of the Quranic Miracle.

• Qudsi Hadith is from Allah, from the view point of meaning , but at the same time , it is the actual wording of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Qudsi Hadith

• It is what Allah has communicated to the prophet (peace be upon him) through revelations or in dreams. Allah’s Messenger informed others of its meaning in his own words.

• Accordingly, the Quran is superior to Qudsi Hadith, because it is the actual word of God.

Differences between the Quran and Qudsi Hadith

• There are some points of differences between the Qur’an and Qudsi Hadith.

• The Quran is a divine miracle, which was revealed to challenge humankind, this does not apply to Qudsi Hadith.

Differences between the Quran and Qudsi Hadith

• Salah is not valid without the recitation of parts of the Qur’an, this is not true in the case of Qudsi Hadith.

• One who rejects the Qur’an is regarded as a kafir, this does not hold true in the case of Qudsi Hadith.

Differences between the Quran and Qudsi Hadith

• The whole Quran was communicated to the Prophet peace be upon him through the agency of Angel Jibreel (aliahi as-salam) , this does not apply to Qudsi Hadith.

• The Quran can not be touched without Taharah (the condition of bodily purity as prescribed by Shari’ah) and this condition does not apply to Qudsi Hadith.

Differences between the Quran and Qudsi Hadith

• Every word of the Quran is Mutawatir (Ensured by many lines of transmission) or ( Narrated by a big numbers of transmitters , that it becomes impossible for them to agree about a lie) . This does not hold true for Qudsi Hadith, which could be Mutawatir, Saheeh, Hassan or Da’eef (Weak)

Differences between the Quran and Qudsi Hadith

• Reciting the Quran is an act of Ibadah (Worship), but reciting Qudsi Hadith is not.

Differences between Hadith Qudsi and Hadith Nabawi

• Qudsi Hadith is ascribed to Allah because its meaning is from God, but Nabawi Hadith is ascribed to the Prophet, because its meaning and wording are from the Messenger.

• Qudsi Hadith was communicated to Allah’s Messenger through revelation (Wahy), but Nabawi Hadith could be an independent judgment or reasoning by Allah’s Messenger. If He (Peace be upon him) does a mistake, he will be commanded to correct it.

قال الله تعالى في حديث قدسي حول إجابة •دعوة المظلوم

• Sك و لو بعد حين” تي و جاللي ألّنصرّن Sو عّز“• Which means:• Allah said in a Qudsi Hadith about

supporting the oppressed ones: “Surely I will help you even though after a period of time”

Examples

• الله – رضي هريرة أبي حديث من الصحيحين فيقال- : قال رسول الله –صلى الله عليه و سلم عنه

– قال الله عّزو جل لمن قتل ّنفسه ”بادرّني عبدي Sة مت عليه الجن Sبنفسه ، حر“

• Junddab ibn Abdullah reported that the Prophet said: “There was a man before you, he had a wound , he took a knife and cut his hand. He died by the continuous bleeding, Allah said “My slave hurried to his death before me, so I forbade paradise on him”.

Examples

• ” قال الله تعالى ” يا أحمد لوالك لما خلقت األفالك• Allah says: ‘ Were it not for you (O Ahmed),

I would not have created the universe’• This is Qudsi Hadith that is Mawthou’

(forged)• كنت كtنّزا ال أعtرف ، فtأحببت أن أعtرف ، فخلقت خلقtا ”

“فعرفتهم بي فعرفوّني• Which means “ I was a hidden treasure ,

and I wished to be known , so I created a creation , then made myself known to them , and they recognized me”
