The Haslemere office of Knight Frank opened its doors in the summer of 2011 in order to cope with the burgeoning demand from both clients and buyers in the prime West Sussex, South Surrey and East Hampshire regions. Since opening, the office has gone from strength to strength leading to both an expansion of the team, a huge uplift in public profile and has seen some outstanding successes for our clients. Another trend we have noticed is the ‘slowing down’ of the London market and buyers recognising the attractive gap between what they can sell for in London and buy for in the country. We anticipate a pent up demand from London buyers who have put off their move to the country as London prices increase. These buyers will bring fuel to the market in the upcoming years, with buyers moving out of the metropolis for a better quality of life.”

Over the past 12 months, the property market has continued to react to world events, both economic and social, that continue to drive global market sentiment. UK prime property has withstood ongoing global upheaval better than most, with London and the South East becoming the safe haven of choice in an ever changing world. Although there is still a healthy number of international buyers looking to move into the UK market, the bulk of the buyers being dealt with by the Haslemere office are British nationals moving out from London to find the ‘forever’ house in the country. We operate a centralised database of buyers which can be accessed by any office in the firm, and we are regularly in contact with our offices in suburban London such as Richmond, Wimbledon and Fulham as well as the offices immediately to the north on the A3 corridor of Esher, Cobham and Guildford. It is this flow of buyers from London, south and west to the Home Counties which, together with the healthy local market presence, is delivering exceptional success time and again.

We see the market in 2014 continuing very much in the same vein as 2013. The key to any successful sale has been a sensible guide price coupled with a proactive approach and the best marketing materials available.
