This year seems to have flown by so quick-ly. Soon we will have the new 2019 Board of Directors for the club. I want to thank the 2017 and 2018 Board members for all of their assistance during my two terms as President, and previous. And I can’t forget all the other members that have put in hundreds of volun-teer hours to make such a success of all the programs and fundraising projects. Thank you all. We are so fortunate to have so many dedi-cated and talented members of this club. I hope our new building will be funded in 2019 to prepare for the next 70 years! I hope to see everyone at the 25th Annual Pa-rade of Tables to celebrate our 70th Birthday of the ADWC! Remember, the proceeds go to the Scholarship and Building funds. Pam

From the Programs Director For the November General Meeting we’re going to do a Thanksgiving themed pot-luck. I will pick up a turkey and everyone who can should bring something that you would serve at Thanksgiving. Julie is going to bring stuffing. Please text me what you are thinking about bringing, that way we don’t get a bunch of duplicates. We still have wristbands for $1 each. And we will call the jewelry raffle winners tonight!

Agua Dulce Women’s Club Hosts Another Fun FREE “Movie & Meal Night”
Despite the small crowd, on Saturday, October 6th, the Agua Dulce Women’s Club was
transformed into a cozy kid’s theater. The kids arrived with pillows, blankets, and sleeping
bags. The local kids (and parents) look forward to this twice-a-year activity. Their parents
are given a special night out knowing the Women’s Club provides a meal, fun-filled night at
the movies, and a goody bag for each of the kids. In return, families are asked to donate
food items for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. The Food Pantry provides a monthly
outreach to qualifying families in our area.
The kids checked in at the “Ticket Counter” manned by Women’s Club members Pam Baird,
Nicole Feuerhelm, and Cheryl Bromley. The Women’s Club “Movie Theater” was filled with
some familiar faces of kids who come to each and every movie night and some new faces
attending for the first time.
The kitchen crew, headed by Julie White and her able assistants, Adele Parrillo, and Karen
Jewett had the brown bag meals ready to go. After a preview showing of “The Trolls” the
kids got their meals of hot dogs, chips, juice boxes, and cookies and settled in to watch
“Hotel Transylvania 3-Summer Vacation.” The movie follows Count Drac and his monster
pals as they take a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship. Along with monster mishaps,
the movie holds a timely message—one of acceptance, love, and tolerance of those differ-
ent from us.
As the parents arrived to pick up their kids, goody bags were distributed to everyone. The
kids were grateful for the fun night and left with smiles and shouts of “Thanks!”
A truckload of food donations totaling more than $500 was delivered to the Santa Clarita
Food Pantry helped to fill some of their empty shelves with pastas, cereals, canned goods,
and peanut butters.
This FREE community event could never happen without the fantastic Movie Night Team:
Pam Baird, Julie White, Adele Parrillo, Karen Jewett, Cheryl Bromley, Mary Nores, Karrie De-
Mott, and Martin Johnson. Thank you all for our part in making Movie Night another suc-
cess and giving the local kids a fun night at the movies. I’m so glad to be part of an organi-
zation that is committed to providing activities for the children of our community.

Remember that Ralph’s Grocery stores and Amazon will each donate a portion of sales
back to our club. However you need to Indicate that your purchases are for your selected
charity—ADWC. Select ADWC for all your Amazon SMILE purchases. Ralphs actually pays
a dividend quarterly if we accumulate at least $25 but, the best part is they will hold over
any amount below that until the next month or we reach that $25 amount.
