Agility Introduces All-New CNG Rail-Mounted Fuel Systems Systems are Specifically Designed for Class 7 and 8 Trucks

Santa Ana, CA, March 22, 2012 — Agility Fuel Systems, the leading designer and producer of alternative fuel storage and delivery systems for heavy duty trucks, buses and specialty vehicles, announced today, at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky, the launch of innovative new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel systems. These high-capacity systems are specifically designed to be rail mounted on class 7 and 8 tractors, which are used in over-the-road, long-haul applications. These classes typically have larger-displacement engines and heavy fuel consumption.

The new products combine the best of styling and functionality with a complete redesign to match todayʼs new aerodynamically styled tractors. They feature an integrated fuel management module, which saves weight and space, along with the industryʼs fastest fill rate.

They also incorporate a host of safety innovations that are industry firsts. The tanks feature an outer cover made from composite material, which provides impact protection. Also, the tanks and steps are attached to the rail via specially engineered break-away brackets, which protect the cylinder from impact in the case of an accident. In addition, a wire embedded into the composite material alerts the driver if the covers are damaged.

Agility replaces the traditional steel mounting straps with designs featuring composite straps, which, along with extruded rubber strap guides, prevent tank rotation that can stress fuel lines.

The new systems are available with cylinders that can be strap or neck mounted in capacities ranging from 29 to 63 Diesel Gallons Equivalent (DGEs) for longer operating ranges.
