About ASD Action Week
• ASD Action Week is a campaign by the Africa Scout Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) that aims to create awareness about and seek greater partnership and support for Scouting in Africa from all stakeholders.
• It is modelled around the Africa Scout Day celebrations marked annual on the 13th day of March. This year’s Africa Scout Day will be commemorated on Friday, 13th March 2020
• It is a platform for mobilization of Scouts, volunteers and partners towards strengthening Scouting and increasing support for its work in the value-based non-formal education of young people in Africa and around the world aimed at building citizens who are self-fulfilled and play a constructive role in creating a better world for all.

Goal of ASD Action Week
To recognize and amplify the contribution of Scouting to the development of young people and their communities across Africa through greater visibility of our social impact, partnerships and commemoration of the Africa Union instituted Africa Scout Day.
Objectives of ASD Action Week
• To showcase Scouting’s social impact through real stories of Scouts making a difference in communities across Africa
• To highlight and amplify the partnerships that actively support the growth and development of Scouting in Africa
• To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Africa Scout Day by the African Union
• To inspire and motivate Scouts in Africa towards living and promoting the shared values of the movement
• To advocate for and inspire behaviour and policy change on issues affecting young people and their communities.

Suggested Activities for ASD Action Week
To showcase Scouting’s social impact through real stories of Scouts making a different in communities across Africa• Showcase special social impact project stories on the key topics from
Local Scout Groups based on campaign topics. • Compile, disseminate and share with WSB Africa a report on the ASD
celebration activities by 21 March 2020 (photos, videos, stories, narrative and impact)
• Feature Good Turn activities by individual Scouts on social media
To highlight and amplify the partnerships that actively support the growth and development of Scouting in Africa
• Send a thank you letter with e-card to all partners of Scouting in the country
• Profile and feature key partners and their support for Scouting in the country on the NSO Website and Social media
• Hold Media Events to celebrate Africa Scout Day and involve your key partners
To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Africa Scout Day by the African Union
• Special ASD commemorative message by top NSO Leadership (Chief Scout, Chief Commissioner, National Executive Commissioner etc)
• Host a national event with Scouts Volunteers and partners and broadcast it live on Facebook (Africa Scout Day on the Air - ASDOTA)
• Conduct a Community Service activity
• Encourage Counties/Provinces/Districts or Scout Groups to hold local events and community service activities in line with identified topics and share reports (photos, videos, stories) for publishing on social media and website
• Wear Uniforms/Scarves to work/school on 13th March
To inspire and motivate Scouts in Africa towards living and promoting the shared values of the movement
• Share this information package with your NSOs grassroots with ideas on how Scouts can celebrate and get involved
• Publish inspiring video messages from key leaders and partners of the NSO
• Share quotes from prominent African Scouts or Leaders who are/were Scouts.
• Nominate your Africa Scouting Hero (A Scout or a friend of Scouting who has made significant contribution to Scouting in Africa) for recognition/mention on the ASD
• Organize talks in schools to create awareness and promote Scout Values
To advocate for and inspire behaviour and policy change on issues affecting young people and their communities.• Join one or more of the Crowdcast Sessions by the WSB Africa Support Centre on
