This issue's featured courses Autocad for beginners - COM225AutoCAD (computer aided design) 2014 for beginners is designed for those who have not had previous contact with the software. We will cover tools such as 2D drawing, learning to work with different layers, creating and handling blocks and layouts.

As a professional or an amateur in the world of technical design, this course will bring you the knowledge and skills you need to feel confident when producing 2D drawings in AutoCad.

CIPD Learning & Development - COM097Do you want to train as a trainer? This nationally recognised course is designed to help you improve your skills and knowledge of basic training work. Successful completion of the course will enable you to obtain the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development new Certificate in Learning and Development Practice. It also provides invaluable background knowledge and training skills, and a qualification on which to apply for the Institute’s professional course of study.

CILEX legal studies - COM099This course will enable you to acquire a general understanding of how the law operates as well as gaining knowledge and understanding in a specific area of the law.

To achieve the Certificate in Legal Studies qualification, you will need to complete four mandatory units: The Legal Environment, Principles of Criminal Liability, Principles of Contract and Principles of Negligence (the latter three were incorporated in to Principles of Liability); plus one further unit.

To achieve the Legal Studies qualification, you will need to pass an externally set multiple-choice test as well as task-based assignments.

This qualification is for you if you are working in or are seeking work in a role where knowledge of the law is required

Intermediate Pattern Cutting - ART004Do you have an interest in making garments and have either attended our Introductory Pattern Cutting course or have some basic pattern cutting experience?

On this course you’ll be shown how to draft a basic pattern. This pattern can be adapted to your own design which you will then make into a finished garment using the skills you have learnt on the course.

There will be some input from tutors on the construction but the main emphasis will be pattern cutting, as it will be expected that you are already confident in garment construction.

More advanced pattern cutting techniques will also be taught.

Intermediate 3D Studio Max - ART0213D Studio Max is an industry standard 3D modeling and animation software package. This digital design course follows on from the introductory course and will enable you to develop your pre-existing 3D Max skills.

The course is perfect for home users who have an interest in digital design as well as for animators, product designers and games designers who want to learn a wider and more advanced set of skills that go beyond basic level.

More advanced aspects of the software will be explored than those studied on the introductory course, broadening your skills in a range of other modeling techniques such as nurbs, character rigging, lighting, animation and UV mapping.

Intermediate Logic Pro Music Production - ART048This six week evening course is designed as either a follow-up to the Logic Pro Music Production Introduction course, or as a first course for those with some experience in the software who would like to improve their knowledge and skills.

Some experience with using Logic Pro will be assumed and classes aim to help producers, engineers and song-writers take their music productions to the next level.

Course content will include recording and editing audio; microphone choices and placement, advanced MIDI programming, basic sound synthesis using Logic software instruments, professional mixing techniques, plug-ins and effects and mastering.

Work with our qualified singing teacher to gain confidence and improve your technique. There will be opportunity to sing within a choir and to develop solos. You will also learn effective singing warm-ups and exercises that will improve all areas of your singing.

Successful completion will allow you to progress to other courses offered such as Anatomy and Physiology Diploma, Swedish Massage or Reflexology.
