Shirley Nelson, Chairman & CEO, created andleads one of the most consistently highly rankedindependent banks in California, SummitBank. Summit Bank now has three branches inOakland, Emeryville and Walnut Creek, California.Ms. Nelson serves as Chairman of the Board andChief Executive Officer of Summit Bank and Sum-mit Bancshares, Inc., the holding company forSummit Bank.

Her one-on-one approach with her clientele, the special attention shepays to her employees, and the resulting financial successes enjoyed bySummit Bank have earned her extensive recognition. The Bank is in its33rd year of operation with 32 consecutive years of profitability.

Shirley prides herself on her dedication to her community. During herdistinguished career she has been involved in several recognizable organizations throughout the Bay Area. 2015 SPIRIT OF HEALING HONOREE

BABAK EDRAKI, MD

Dr. Babak Edraki received his BA in genetics andmolecular biology from the University of California,Davis and received his MD degree from GeorgeWashington University in Washington D.C.

Dr. Edraki completed a residency in gynecologyand obstetrics at Stanford University in Palo Alto,California followed by a fellowship in gynecologiconcology at Yale University in Connecticut. He hasserved in the medical faculty at Stanford University

as well at University of Texas Houston MD Anderson Cancer Center priorto going into private practice in 1998. He is a fellow of the AmericanCollege of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a full member of the Societyof Gynecological Oncologists. He is double boarded in gynecologicaloncology as well as general obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Edraki lives and practices in the San Francisco East Bay, and hismarried with two children. During his down time, he enjoys hikingand scuba diving.
