Bidder Questions

Q1: Are emailed bid acceptable? A1: No, bids must be sealed and delivered in accordance with the instructions to bidders in the issued bid documents. Q2: Are Louver shown on Drawing M-2 to be replaced? A2: No, all existing louvers and outdoor air dampers are to remain. Q3: Are other equipment manufacturers allowed? A3: As long as the performance, efficiency and functionality of the alternate equipment manufacturers meets or exceeds the basis of design Q4: Does the existing boiler system have an existing fill valve, backflow, air separator, etc.? A4: Yes. It is our intent to re-use the existing fill valve/backflow at this time. Q5: What are we to do for units AH-1 & AH-3 with non-matching linesets? A5: Fortunately, units AH-1 and AH-3 are on ground level near the condenser yard. Existing linesets not in accordance with equipment manufacturer’s recommended sizing will need to be replaced. Systems requiring an additional circuit will require the installation of additional refrigeration piping. Q6: Are we to provide a front end for the controls? A6: See revised sheet M6 for additional information on the controls hardware and software required for this project. A new standalone controls system will be required for all new equipment. Q7: What type of pad should the new server room condensing unit be set on? A7: The new server room condensing unit shall be set on a pre-cast concrete equipment pad, appropriately sized for the equipment being set on it and leveled prior to equipment being set.
