Lake Major WSP Butterfly Valves
To All Bidders of Q17.2019:
Please note: the following clarification is in response to questions received for Q17.2019 and
should be taken into consideration when preparing bid submission.
1. I reviewed addendum C 1 and see that the actuators will be supported above floor level, as well there is mention of extensions, are the pedestals and stem extensions required with the quotation? If so, is there information available to make proper selections?
Answer: The existing valves have ductile iron pedestals and stainless steel stems that
extend from the valve up through the floor grate. The exact dimensions are to be
confirmed by the selected proponent once the contract is awarded. For the submission,
please include a dollar per metre cost for the ductile iron pedestal and 304 stainless
steel stem.
This item is for clarification purposes only and does not change the scope of work of the tender.

Clarification # 1
Request for Quotation Q17.2019
Lake Major WSP Butterfly Valves To All Bidders of Q17.2019: Please note: the following clarification is in response to questions received for Q17.2019 and should be taken into consideration when preparing bid submission. Question 1: Could you please confirm line pressure for both the 600mm and 750mm valves? Answer 1: Maximum of 5m head.
Question 2: Could we quote 120V single phase actuators instead of 600V three phase? Answer 2: This is acceptable only if the transformer is built into the actuator. This must be specifically outlined in the quotation to be considered. Question 3: Are the actuators on pedestals that keep them above the floor? Answer 3: Yes, the valves are on extensions and the actuators are situated above floor level. Question 4: Is the “battery pack” to close the valve during power failure a mandatory feature? Answer 4: The battery pack option must be included in the quote. If there is a proposed alternative for other fail close options, you may submit for consideration. Please include the cost of the alternative in you quotation. These items are for clarification purposes only and does not change the scope of work of the tender.
