Our goal

ACCRA aims to increase governments’ and development

actors’ use of evidence in designing and implementing both

humanitarian and development interventions that increase

poor and vulnerable communities’ capacity to adapt to

climate hazards, variability and change.

Adaptive capacityThe property of a system to adjust its characteristics or behavior, in order to expand its coping range under existing climate variability or future climate conditions. (UNDP, 2005)

5. Building adaptive capacity requires a continuous process of learning, change and innovation

– Improving understanding of issues around CCA and DRR.

– National policies – Planning – Participatory tools and community engagement. – National and local planning processes.

• Need more learning and harmonisationin phase 2.

• 89% met needs in Ethiopia.
