STUDENT ACTIVIITIES AND HIGHLIGHTS

Continue to use data to enhance the school’s instructional focus to in-crease student achievement as indicated by iReady, SC-READY and SC-PASS.

Continue to provide professional development opportunities to ensure successful implementation of the SC College and Career-Ready Stand-ards.

Continue to expand technology needed to equip students with the nec-essary skill-set to be college and career-ready in the 21st century.

Continue to acquire nonfiction and fiction texts to enhance the media center and classroom libraries.

Continue to enhance home-school communication through increased electronic and social media outlets.

We participated in annual fundraising drives benefitting the United Way and the Upstate Family Resource Center.

We collected, distributed and acted as liaison for various churches and businesses providing Christmas assistance to our families.

We maintained our strong partnership with USC-Upstate and Converse College by hosting and mentoring practicum teachers.

We continued our partnership with Johns Manville, providing weekend snack bags for students.

Our school webpage, Facebook page, SeeSaw and The Falcon Flyer e-newsletter continue to provide information relating to events at MES.

Regularly scheduled Spirit Nights brought our school family together outside of school hours.

We maintained a strong partnership with Chesnee High School to pro-mote service learning opportunities and teacher cadet experiences.

We continued our annual tradition of hosting Literacy Night and Math/Science Night.

We collaborated with other District 2 schools to collect non-perishable food to support the Upstate Family Resource Center

We continued our partnership with the Chapman Cultural Center to provide school-wide programming focusing on the arts.

We continued our partnership with the Boys and Girls of the Upstate to provide after-school programming offering opportunities in aca-demics, athletics and arts.
