Domestic and sexual abuse victim advocates provide invaluable support and resources to victims in most communities throughout the United States. This education series is intended to expand on what advocates already know and help advocates recognize and respond to some of the unique issues experienced by older survivors. Programs may find the education series useful for new staff and volunteer training, as well as training seasoned advocates who want to learn more about abuse in later life. Our intention is to make training easily accessible, giving advocates an opportunity to learn at their desk. NCALL has created several training modules as part of this series. The training modules are designed as pre-recorded webinars, each less than 35 minutes in length. Most modules include videos from national experts along with NCALL staff to provide you with a broad view on the subject matter. A worksheet is provided with each module with questions to consider, plus provides a list of additional resources on the subject. This document contains a chart individuals can use to track which modules they have watched. The first column indicates the module title as well as information on the presenters. The second column displays the length of each recorded module so individuals can schedule time accordingly. The final column provides space to write the date the module was watched to track progress through the series. If you have any questions or want additional information, please contact Ann Turner at NCALL at [email protected].

Abuse in Later Life Education Series for Advocates

Welcome to the Abuse in Later Life Education Series for Advocates.

Domestic and sexual abuse victim advocates provide invaluable support

and resources to victims in most communities throughout the United

States. This education series is intended to expand on what advocates

already know and help advocates recognize and respond to some of the

unique issues experienced by older survivors. Programs may find the

education series useful for new staff and volunteer training, as well as

training seasoned advocates who want to learn more about abuse in later

life. Our intention is to make training easily accessible, giving advocates an

opportunity to learn at their desk.

NCALL has created several training modules as part of this series. The

training modules are designed as pre-recorded webinars, each less than 35

minutes in length. Most modules include videos from national experts along

with NCALL staff to provide you with a broad view on the subject matter. A

worksheet is provided with each module with questions to consider, plus

provides a list of additional resources on the subject.

This document contains a chart individuals can use to track which modules

they have watched. The first column indicates the module title as well as

information on the presenters. The second column displays the length of

each recorded module so individuals can schedule time accordingly. The

final column provides space to write the date the module was watched to

track progress through the series.

If you have any questions or want additional information, please contact Ann Turner at NCALL at [email protected].
