ABOUT CRBCentre for Responsible Business (CRB) was established in 2011 as think-tank to pursue its vision, 'businesses integrate sustainability into their core business practices'. Given that sustainability is a multi-dimensional problem especially in the context of India and other emerging economies, CRB has adopted a model of engaging multiple stakeholders to develop action plans for promoting sustainable/responsible business, across various sectors in India.

Implemented various interventions on supply chain sustainability issues including in apparel/textiles and mining/minerals (sandstone and mica) based industries
Pioneered work with voluntary sustainability standards in India, by engaging them closely with sectoral stakeholders for better appreciation and uptake
Pursuing interventions in palm oil and electronics/IT sector to highlight how market-based methods can help develop the business case for sustainability

CRB has been pursuing active partnerships with a number of Universities and Centres of Academic Excellence globally, viz. Aston Business School (UK), Erb Institute (University of Michigan, USA), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) and University of Basel (Switzerland)
CRB has developed a number of multi-stakeholder sustainability initiatives in partnership with like-minded organisations. These are Indian Water Stewardship Network (IWSN), Indo-Dutch CSR & Sustainability Forum (INDUS-Forum); Sustainable Palm Oil Coalition for India (I-SPOC)
Developed its annual international sustainability conference (India & Sustainability Standards) as an initiative for international and national sustainable business and sustainability standards practitioners to dialogue on sustainability challenges, using a result-based approach.
