ment to inform the public, both in the city and country, that full particulars of the proposed plan of sale will appear in an early advertisement, and in the meantime to remind capitalists contemplating the establishment of new banking institutions, insurance offices, and other public companies, &c„ of the noble frontages for sale at the CORNER OF BOORKE STREET, formerly known as " Bear s Corner, reasonably anticipating, when such establishments come into play, that they will intercept much of the popular business oscillating between the new palatial wool mart of Messrs. R. Goldsbrough and Co. (with a facade as broad as the Tuileries), on the west, and the crowd of stock and station agency offices, &c on the east. Opinions may vary, but a worthy contemporary has given his to the> effect that this city block is without exception the choicest property which has ever been offered for sale in Melbourne, taking into consideration its elevated and prominent central position, and sanitary advantages-the future « Boulevard Montmartre of our rising city.
