UnlikesomeothercommerciallyavailableUPStechnologies,thedouble-conversiondesignusedinthe9390completelyisolatesoutputpowerfrominputpoweranomaliesanddelivers100-per-centconditioned,perfectsinewaveoutput,regulatingbothvolt-ageandfrequency.Evenwhenpresentedwiththemostseverepowerdisturbances,poweroutputremainsstable.

Inthestandarddouble-conversionmode,the9390deliverseffi-ciencyofupto94percent.Thishighlevelofpowerperformanceisenabledbymoderntransformer-freetechnologythatincorpo-ratessmall,lightweightfilterinductors,highperformanceIGBTsinbothrectifierandinverter,andanadvancedcontrolalgorithm.ThankstotheIGBTtechnology,the9390doesnotrequireinputfilterstoobtainexcellentinputITHD.

DuetoitslowinputITHD(below4.5percentatfullload)andhighinputpowerfactor(over0.99),the9390isexceptionallycompat-iblewithdiversepowersources,especiallygenerators.The9390isalsoextremelymainsfriendlyduetoitslowharmoniccontent.

The9390UPSisoptimisedfor0.9p.f.,meaningyougetmorerealpowerforyourmoney.Ontheoutputsidethe9390canprovideitsfullpowercapability,asitsupportsleadingpowerfactorloads,whicharebecomingmoreprevalentinnewandupdateddatacen-tres.The9390UPShandlesdownto0.8leadingpowerfactorofmoderncomputerandserverloads.

Eaton´sinnovativeEnergySaverSystem(ESS)technologyenablesUPSefficiencytoreachanimpressive99percent.Inthestandarddouble-conversionmodetheUPSoperatesasnormal,supply-ingpowerthroughthepowerconverters.WithESSthepowerconvertersarein“ready”stateandthestaticbypassswitchisusedtosafelyprovidemainscurrentdirectlytotheload.Ifmainspowerislostorexceedspresetoutputlimits,theDClinkthatiskeptactiveenablesaseamlessswitchovertodoubleconversioninlessthantwomilliseconds.WhileinESS,theUPSisalsoabletodetectwhetherafaulthasbeencausedbyasourceorbyaload.Afaultatthebypasssourceresultsinimmediateswitchovertotheinverter;afaultintheloadkeepstheUPSinESSmode.

Easy Capacity Test reduces costs

The9390hastheuniqueabilitytotestitsentirepowertrainunderfullloadstresswithouttherequirementofanexternalloadthankstoEasyCapacityTest(ECT).Withnoloadconnected,the9390isabletotestallofitspowerhandlingcomponents,includingtherectifier,inverter,contactors,fuses,powerbusses,cabling,batteries,bypass(staticswitch),magneticsandfiltercapacitors.Furthermore,the9390hastheabilitytotesttheupstreambypassinputbreaker(BIB),therectifierinputbreaker(RIB)andallofthe

electricalcablesbetweenthem.Thenetresultofthisinnovativeloadtestisthattherearenoloadbankstorent,notemporaryloadconnectionstomake,nowastedenergy,thussavingyoutimeandmoneyduringstartupandcommissioningtests.Eatonfieldtechni-ciansaretrainedtousethisloadtestingcapabilityduringastartupservicetoensureoptimumcalibration,maximumefficiencyandinherentredundancy.

The9390offersthesmallestfootprintofanyUPSinitsclass–10to35percentsmallerthancompetingunits.Withatransformer-freedesign,theEaton9390UPSmeetsorexceedsvirtuallyallfloorloadingstandards,anditslowweightmeansunitscanbemovedwithoutheavyliftingequipmentandwillfitinallstandardfreightelevators.

CablingcanentertheUPSfromeitherthetoporbottomofthecabinettoprovideeasierandflexibleinstallation.The9390pro-videsfront-panelaccessforallservicesandoperation,increas-ingserviceabilityandreducingmeantimetorepair(MTTR).Andsincethecompact,front-accessible9390cabinetcanbeinstalledagainstbackandsidewalls,youhavemorelocationoptions,installationandserviceisfastandeasy,deploymentcostislower,andyousavevaluablefloorspace.
