Adult Confirmation PreparationWe call Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist the Sacraments ofInitiation because they are the foundations of the Christian life.Through these sacraments we are immersed into the mystery ofChrist’s saving death and resurrection. To be a fully initiated member
of the Catholic Church, one needs to bebaptized, confirmed, and share in theEucharist. Confirmation is intimatelyconnected with Baptism. It brings an increaseand deepening of baptismal grace. InConfirmation, we are sealed with the gift ofthe Holy Spirit. Through anointing andimposition of hands, we are conformed more
closely to Christ and more perfectly bound to the Church so that wemay bear witness to Christ in the world.
For many reasons some adults have not yet celebrated the sacramentof Confirmation. If you would like to join a group of adults (over 18years old and out of high school) preparing to be confirmed, pleasecontact Catherine Shadduck at [email protected] orcall 482-6417 ext 331.
