~~~~All Are Welcome Here~All Are Welcome Here~All Are Welcome Here~All Are Welcome Here~ Let our overall thought and intention be for all
those who feel alienated from our church. For all
those who through our thought, word or deed, or
our omission of thought, word and deed feel
abandoned and unloved. May we be a community
of reconciliation and peace. May we accept all peo-
ple, no matter who they are, no matter where
they’ve been, no matter what their story is. May we
be Christ for others. May all be welcomed here.
Parish Mission Statement The mission of the Catholic communities of St.
Blaise and St. Brendan is to be a people united in
the Eucharist and dedicated to spreading the Good
News of God’s saving love to all. We seek to en-
courage the full and active participation of all
God’s children and be a place where they can come
to know, love, and serve God. Guided by the Holy
Spirit, we give witness to the teachings of Jesus
Christ by actively living the corporal and spiritual
works of mercy, thereby being signs of God’s love
in the world.
Summary of Last Weekend’s Collection: Offertory: $7,283.00
Automatic Bill Pay Offertory: $970.00 Total Offertory: $8,253.00
The Seminarian Collection~ Next weekend’s Seminar-ian collection supports the formation and training of seminarians in the Archdiocese of Boston, we pray, as your future priests. Boston is blessed with three local seminaries: Pope Saint John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Saint John’s Seminary in Brighton, and Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Chestnut Hill. These institutions rely upon the generosity of all parishion-ers within the Archdiocese of Boston to continue the important work of priestly formation, and to help meet our annual operating budgets. The occasion of this collection provides a good opportunity to encour-age vocations for the priesthood and for religious life. We invite you to learn more about this collection at www.VocationsBoston.org
Seventh Sunday of Easter
Thank you to all who have participated in the 2018 Catholic Appeal. To date we have raised $15,850.00 (67%) of our goal of $23,512.00. If you have yet to give we need your help to reach our goal! Your support is the most effective way our parish community can join together in the Church’s universal work to care for our neighbors. please pick up a pledge form found at the doors of the church or visit the website, boston-catholicappeal.org Thank you for your prayers and support.
St. Blaise Harvest Fair~ Did you know that our Harvest Fair is one of our big-gest fundraisers? Last year we raised over $11,000.00 for the parish! The fair
is a fun filled day, with opportunities to win prizes, find and buy treasures in Grandma’s Attic, purchase crafts, eat great food, and meet up with friends! To make the fair a success takes A LOT of planning, and volunteer power. We need your help! We need chairpersons for various tables and committee members for each of those tables; we need a set up committee and clean up committee; and we need your input and ideas! Please help us! We understand your time is limited and strive to keep the meetings to a minimal. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday evening May 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the church hall. If you have any questions please speak to Jen Altomonte or Paula Nieva.
Catholic Kids Bulletin~ As you are taking your weekly bulletin, allow your child to grab a bulletin of their own! The Catholic Kids Bulletin can be found on the Missalette bookcase, at every entrance. This special kids’ bulletin has the Psalm, proclaimed at the Mass, on the cover. Inside, the children can find an activity or coloring sheet that connects to the Gospel. The back cover is about a Saint who’s feast day will be cele-brated over the week. We hope you find this bulletin to be a useful tool in passing on the faith to your chil-dren. Be sure to share your thoughts with Beth.
~ Seventh Sunday of Easter ~
Listen closely to today’s gospel. It is as if we are eavesdropping on Jesus at prayer. Take note, he is praying for us! He is ask-ing God to protect us, to keep us from
the evil one and to be consecrated in the truth. We can be confident that God hears the prayer of Christ, it is up to us to take this prayer to heart. To do that, take some quiet time today to listen again to Jesus prayer for you and then speak to Jesus from your heart.
Abundant Hope is a Christian pro-life ministry serving the Greater Attleboro, Southeastern MA and Cape Cod communities. Abundant Hope exists to share the love of Christ and to offer free services to women and families before, during and after pregnancy. Support Abundant Hope Pregnancy Resource Center by joining us in the Baby Bottle Drive. It’s as simple as taking a baby bottle, found in the baskets by the doors, home and filling it up with your donation of change, cash or checks and then returning it back to the church for de-livery. Your contribution makes significant changes in the lives of families in our community. The baby bottles should be returned no later than Sunday, June 17th. To learn more about Abundant Hope or to request ser-vices, please visit their website: https://ahprc.org or call 508-455-0425. Thank you for your support.
