PUTTING TECHNOLOGY in the COMFORT ZONE

Panelist: Dana Shefsky Director, Digital Product Innovation Hilton Worldwide

Dana Shefsky, CHTP, is the director of Digital Product Innovation at Hilton Worldwide, where she oversees the design and development of technology aimed to improve the guest experience and hotel operations. Serving as the conduit between Hilton’s business and technology teams, Dana has successfully brought to life many of Hilton’s key digital initiatives, including digital check-in with room selection. A 16-year Hilton veteran, Dana’s passion for technology, combined with her industry expertise, has equipped her with the right skills to keep Hilton at the forefront of innovation.

Most recently, Dana led her team in the development and rollout of Hilton’s revamped digital check-in initiative, which increased daily digital check-ins globally from 100 to 25,000. Building upon this, she headed Hilton’s digital room selection initiative – an industry first, which gave Hilton HHonors guests the ability to select their exact hotel room from a digital floor plan. The feature was a huge success with guests – more than 1 million HHonors members used the functionality within the first four months of its availability.

Dana is overseeing the product development of Hilton’s digital key initiative, which will give guests the ability to unlock their hotel room door via mobile-enabled key technology. For her efforts in bringing Hilton’s cutting edge innovations to market, Dana was honored with Hilton’s prestigious 2014 Circle of Excellence Award.

When she is not pioneering the forefront of hospitality technology innovation, Dana enjoys spending time with her husband and two small children and dabbles in genealogy.
