New Orleans/Cajun/Gulf Shore! Come join us on this fantastic journey as we explore the history, beauty & pristine magnificence of the great South. A trip packed with lots of fun & laughter! Day 1, Sun. April 11……. Today our journey begins as we travel to Joplin, MO. For our overnight stay. You’ll enjoy a ‘Hotel happy Hour’ this evening. (D) Day 2, Mon. April 12….. We continue our travels south & will make a fun surprise stop in Bentonville, Ark.. We then continue onto Shreveport, La., for our overnight lodging. (B) Day 3 Tues. April 13…… We depart Shreveport & make our way to Loyd Hall Plantation near Cheneyville, LA. This former sugarcane plantation is on the Nat’l Historic Registry. Miss Beulah, who has been part of this plantation her entire life, will share history, as well as many stories of this beautiful haunted mansion. We then travel into the Louisiana Bayou. Here, native Cajun tour guides will take us on a swamp boat tour thru moss-draped cypress trees, where you’ll see graceful egrets perch just out of the reach of lingering alligators. It’s an experience you’ll never forget! Lodging tonight in Lafayette, LA. (B,L,D) Day 4, Wed. April 14…… Today our Cajun Fun continues! We’ll start the day off with a visit to a Crawfish & Rice Farm. Here’s you’ll experience the habitat, harvest, distributions & consumption of Louisiana’s #1 crustacean. After leaving the Crawfish Farm we’ll visit the Gator Chateau. This sanctuary is a rescue, educate, & release program that fosters baby alligators until they are able to be released back into their natural habitat again. Then we’re off to lunch where you’ll get a chance to try some of this region’s delicacies, anything from crawfish to shrimp & crab to gumbo. Later this afternoon you’re in for a real treat that will get your hands a clappin’ & your toes a tappin’ We then depart the Lafayette area & travel to Baton Rouge, LA. For our overnight stay. Day 5, Thurs. April 15…… Today we travel to New Orleans. Upon arrival we’ll be met by a local tour guide that will take us on a tour of the city. Some of the highlights you’ll see: The Garden District, majestic mansions, Audubon Park, we’ll stop for visit at the City Cemetery, plus lots more. You’ll then have the afternoon to have lunch & explore the French Quarter & most certainly do some shopping in the French Market. We overnight in New Orleans. (B,D) Day 6, Fri. April 16…… This morning you’ll have the opportunity to visit the World War II Museum in New Orleans. This museum is one of the finest you’ll ever visit. It tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world. Why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today. We are then off to the Port of New Orleans for the luncheon cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez. While on the Harbor Jazz Cruise we’ll glide past the French Quarter & you’ll see why they declare New Orleans as one of the most active river ports of the world. Later today we travel to Gulf Port, Miss. For our overnight stay at our beachfront hotel. (B,L) Day 7, Sat. April 17…… This morning we travel just a short distance to Biloxi, Miss. First off we’ll enjoy a Shrimp Boat Tour. On this unique & interesting tour you’ll be exposed to how this creature of sea-life is caught on a real-life fishing expedition. After the curise we’ll be met by a step-on guide that will take us around the Biloxi area & point out some of the city’s highlights, including the Hurricane Katrina Memorial, the hurricane that devastated this area back in 2005. We’ll then have lunch at a seafood restaurant along the water’s edge, before departing for Meridian, Miss. For our overnight lodging. (B,D) Day 8, Sun April 18…… Today we travel to Birmingham, Ala. where a step-on guide will join us & bring the history of this city to life. Drivers, start your engines! Talladega Raceway here we come! If you’re a NASCAR fan you know that Talladega is home to one of the largest super speedways in America. We’ll tour the facility, visit Victory Lane, & if timing is on our side, you’ll get to take a lap around the track. Always a breathtaking fun experience! We return to Birmingham where we’ll overnight. (B,D)

Day 9, Mon. April 19…… This morning we’ll travel to Tuscumbia, Ala. where we’ll visit the Helen Keller birthplace home. Here, at Ivy Green Estates, you’ll have a tour of the home & also hundreds of Miss Keller’s personal mementos, books & gifts from her lifetime of travel. We’ll then travel to Tupelo, Miss., and visit Elvis Presley’s boyhood home. We’ll tour the beautiful park that Tupelo has erected in his honor & you can visit the gift shop to pick up an Elvis souvenir. Later this afternoon we’ll travel north, making one more ‘surprise’ stop, before arriving in Memphis for our overnight. (B,D) Day 10, Tues. April 20…… This morning we’ll enjoy a “Memphis Style” City Tour, followed by a little free time for lunch & exploring Beal Street, home of the ‘Blues’. We then continue our trek towards home, overnighting in Fairview Heights, Ill, where you’ll enjoy one last ‘hotel happy hour’. (B,D) Day 11, Wed. April 21……They say all good things must come to an end & today is that day. Hopefully you will take home with you a pocket-full of good times, new friends, & memories to last a lifetime. (B)
