On Wednesday I decorated a gingerbread man. I put sprinkles and teeny tiny marshmallows on him. It was yum! I had a great time. Qasim PM

In the morning we went to the EAL celebration. We made gingerbread men, chocolate balls and 3D Christmas trees. It was fun. The best part was decorating the gingerbread man and candy cane. Ryan 1JK

On Wednesday we had our celebration with the Preps to Grade 6’s. I loved making the gingerbread men and chocolate balls. It was fantastic! Akith 2R

Yesterday we had our EAL celebration. All the EAL students participated and we all had fun. We made magnificent paper Christmas trees with Nanci Moore (a lady who helps in the library) to start off the Christmas spirit. Mrs Pryce and the students made mouth-watering chocolate balls. Mrs Hayden and the EAL students, with the help of the senior students, iced and decorated a gingerbread man and a gingerbread candy cane. These all looked terrific and tasted delicious. Mrs Hayden was reading Christmas stories to the students. It made the children warm and fuzzy inside. We all had a terrific time and it was a great experience.

On behalf of all the EAL students and Mrs Pryce and Mrs Hayden I wish you a happy and safe holiday. By Alex Z Year 5

All students have worked so well in their EAL sessions this year and should be proud of their achievements and progress. We have had lots of laughs and fun while learning English and we look forward to another great year next year.

A big thank you to Nanci Moore for baking all the gingerbread and helping us with our celebration. We could not have done it without you. THANK YOU!

Mrs Pryce and Mrs Hayden

LAST DAY FOR BORROWING TAKE-HOME BOOKS

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who come to hear students read. Our students look forward to reading to someone other

than a parent, who has the time to sit and listen to them. Daily reading is an essential component of our Literacy programme and you help us to achieve this goal. I hope you have found it rewarding to build a relationship with the children and be amazed at their progress.

This Friday will be the last day that students take books home from school.

I need to do a stocktake and get the books organised for next year. Please have a good look at home, behind the shelf and under the bed! If a book needs repairing, please leave it on the table outside my room. If you have some time to help me check, repair and sort the books, please come and see me next week. Thanks again, Helen Dent
