For nearly seven decades the OiER has been a competent
bridge-builder, first point of contact, and pioneer in expanding
and promoting interna-tional economic processes.
As a global forum, the OiER’s main expertise is to facilitate
topics among the business communities, interna-tional
organizations, global financial institutions, governments as well
as non-governmental organizations.
OiER focuses on building partnerships and identifying trends in
a global context as well as on addressing key future-oriented
issues in the areas of sustainability, innovation, commu-nication,
environment, health, energy and mobility. The OiER constantly
pursues the objective of aligning public interests and the
offerings and requirements of the private sector in addition to
using available informa-tion from different sectors
efficiently.
OiER – Global Challenges 2020
In 2014, the OiER celebrates 40 years of consultative status
with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC)
and to the European Council. Furthermore OiER was awarded
consultative status with the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO).
The International Council of the OiER, under the chairmanship of
Ambas-sador Professor Günther Granser, actively supports and
develops world-wide relationships and supports the fast growing
international network of the organization. Thus OiER has gained
capacities, resources and expe-rience from long established
indus-trial, economic and political networks across more than 60
countries.
